1. My Sei and Pedulla are doing the job for me right now, could squeeze another 5 string Jazz in there though, maybe sea foam green or Sonic blue, Nordy fat stacks, maybe an audere pre. From the likes of shuker or sei! T
2. Yes, stunning, glad I have one! Otherwise I would be flogging kidney No 2 T

4. My sei was out of action last week, did a rehersal with just fretless, went fine, had a fretted P-bass for a few tracks we are doing thoug, just in case. Didn't need it, suprising how quick you get it naoled with stuff you know well, I often play along to our demos on fretless. ...and it is a lush pedulla T

Line6 M9

Been a bit busy of late, life is very hectic, so still not had chance to have a good play with this Still not updated the firmware, so not got stuff like the octaver yet I did take it to rehersal last night, hit one of the tube overdrive models, sounded fine, worked very well, had to adjust the level and drive, but worked fine on bass Got a bit of time before next gig on sunday so will try and get some more time on it, but having a noodle at home is fine, getting out with a screaming guitarist and a hard hitting drummer is the only well to tell if it really is what I'm hoping it is! T
6. We're playing RB's Tony
7. I use one at home, seems OK, but it ain'y getting the same treatment it would if I took it out on gigs For gigs Iuse a fold up flat double (x2, not upright) bass stand, no fancy grabby stuff, just stick em in and leave it, not as small as a Herc' though! Tony
8. Not sure what extent Oxjam gigs are happening round the UK this weekend, but I doknow there's one in manchester and another in Chester We're head lining at one of the Chester venues on Sunday, just before a GLC DJ set, anyone else doing any of these? Tony
9. His melodic playing is nice, he deffo has his own style and the melodic basslines on the first few albums always had a certain feel to them, a side often overlooked as poeple wade into his slap style. I grew up listening to Level 42, it was so accessible, on the radio, TOTP's the tube etc and it opened the doors to a whole world of other players I din't know existed when I was a young bass cadet, I suddenly became aware of the likes of SC, MM and a whole load of other players! my playing today doesn't reflect his influence as i have lsitened to amny players over the last 30 years, but I do like to wiggle me thumb every now and then and do some wicky wacky triplet lines, there is still something very satisfying about it. T
10. I will take a sensible offer on these! Tony
11. exact same reply as shockwave!
12. 19mm string spacing I'm not sure which ones they are, but the wires are joined in the parralel way! Nordstrand Tony
13. For info, these are Bartolini P2 replacements size is 4.25" x 1.25" Tony
14. Not so much a dislike for the sound of the Bart' pre, the top end sometimes seemed all or nothing though! The layout was difficult, 4 pots and 2 switches squeezed onto the plate was difficult at times, I was knocking th coil selector switches when moving pots. I could have just took them out and fitted a new plate, but felt like trying something different, and being familiar with the East, I went that route! This is now fitted and working, had to cut the jack plug off the east and thread the wires through to the existing jack, was very difficult, had to open up the very tight channel in order to do it. Also had a problem with the passive tone pot connections touching a painted earthing point at one end of the cavity. I dropped a strip of tape over it and it worked fine. Sound is nice, a little compressed compared to the Bart pre, not as open, if that makes sense? Nice to have the overall tone control just to roll off or add top end I got a reherasal and gig tomorrow night so should have a better opinion then, but for now, it seems to suit what I'm doing right now. I have an additional switch on this, opposite the active passive switch, this is for side of neck LED's. This makes 3 switches on the plate, but the switches John uses are tiny compared to the switches you need for coil selection, so even though I've gone from two to three, the size and layout makes the switches less obtrusive. I've got no pickgaurd on the bass right now as I need to sand it down in the cut out where the plate fits, as its a very tight fit! I have photo's, will post them when I get chance Would like to try and audere at some point though, would be an intresting comparison Tony
15.
Is there room for a battery in there as well?thanks.
This came out of a bass with a seperate battery box, I doubt there would be room inside a standard sized cavity T
16. It was me assuming too much, I really wanted these in my bass :-( Tony
17. I bought these very recently, didn't check the size of the p/ups they were replacing then found out these don't fit! These look brand new, but are used Dual coil p/ups, made by Nordstrand, very highly rated and around £260 / pair From Nordstrand... This is a modern design dual coil humbucking pickup. Pickups like these are usually found on very high end basses. They use Alnico V magnets and the traditional bi-pole layout with two poles per string. It's almost like two Jazz Bass® style pickups in one cover. These pickups are available in two different versions. One set is designed to be wired in parallel, and the other in series. The reason we do this is that a pickup that is made to sound good wired parallel will usually be too hot and dark sounding if wires in series. So, we put less wire on a series dual coil than a parallel dual coil. In general, a pickup wired in series will have a fuller and fatter midrange with a subdued high end than a pickup wired in parallel, which will typically have more highs and a deeper low end with a cleaner midrange. Series pickups also have more output than parallel pickups. Parallel pickups are generally a better choice for a split-able installation, as there will not be the gain loss associated with series pickups. These pickups are available only in black plastic covers with exposed pole pieces. These are a direct replacement for Bartolini BC, P2, P4 soapbar size pickups, and are also available for EMG 35/40/45 sized pickups. Will update with sizes soon Be quick cos I may use these in a project bass £130 posted Tony
18. Just took this out of my Sei It's a Bartolini 3 band pre on a Jazz plate It's not hard wired to anything so could easily be fitted into another bass without the plate The pot layout is as follows, Volume, blend, Mid, stacked bass and treble The volume pot is push/pull for the LED's on my sei and there are two coil selector switches. One for each pick up and 3 way for each coil and both together The grey cable you can see in the photo's is for the jack, the power cables are easily seen, pick ups connect to the switches, but these could be removed and p/ups wired direct to the pre, I'm not sure about the wiring on the switches, but I suspect the details are out there on the www In the photo's, the plate looks a bit crap, this is just off my fingers, it's in good looking order and the pre amp was working fine without any issues prior to be removed from the bass £50 posted ?
19. I've got a couple of EBS straps and they seem to work for me, Harvest look good though! T
20. Started work on this last night! First big probelm, the p/ups don't fit. I knew the Nordys were listed on the site as direct replacements for Bart humbuckers, I should have double checked the sizes, but didn't, anyway, they dont fit, they are too narrow and the mounting holes are in the wrong place. Not too concerned right now, just gonna leave the barts in and fit the J-retro Removed the old pre amp last night, had to desolder the jack socket in order to fit it, couldn't get all the wires thru the channle to the jack, so ended up enlarging it. eventua;lly got everything thru and soldered the jack back on. Thats were it finished last night, so shpould have it done tonight. The barts are going in, in series and the wires are set up now ready to into the terminas on the J-rtro I may revisit one of the joints on the jack tonight, I wasn't 100% happy last night, my sodler wasn't playing ball, some new solder today should sort it Hopefully all done tonight Anyone up for a pair of Nordstrand dual coils? Tony
21. My white Sei is currently undergoing surgery so, I did the full rehersal last night on the Pedulla, sounded great, I did have a few precisions with me last night (one is detuned, hence the "few") but only used them for the tracks we are doing with a guy from the Roses. Great sound, it really cut through! T
22. I had to wait a while for this one to turn up, glad it did though! Currently played on one track in my bands set, but that could change to 3 tonight, depending on how rehersal goes. I got one of the lines down for a new track on fretless and it's gonna go in right at the start of the set (no 2), so no time to change basses, so the first track of the set will be having it as well T
23. sold, pending the usual Tony
24. Prompted by a thread in a the for sale section, I think we need a Pedulla thread in the pron section as things things are incredibly sexy, and mighty fine basses too! Mine is a 5 string Pentabuz, bart p/ups, had the laquer removed from the neck so it's down to the bare ebony as there was a lot of wear in it I thought I had a photo of mine on this laptop, but I was wrong, gonna have to use a shot of it in action for now!
