  1. The Fender tone stack is bass and treble cut to 2/10, mids 10 /10 for as flat as possible.
  2. What happened to DHL? They carried the last bass I got from the US very professionally.
  3. First you want to test each driver that it A, hasn't failed to a open circuit by putting multimeter on DCR ohms. Should measure somewhere from 3 to 14 ohms. Less than 3 I would suspect failed short circuit which would explain the amp going poof. B, still makes a thump with 9v battery. The DCR measure is a little less than the nominal impedance for the driver. That will inform the choice of wring scheme. Given your substitute amp has way far more power than you need it might not be a bad idea to go high on the cab impedance wiring, to cut down on risk of blowing it up. Eg 4x16 ohm can be 16 as a series parallel instead of 4 ohm parallel. 4x4ohm can be 16 all in series instead of 4 series parallel. Your pjb box may have had the amp taking up some internal volume? Probably not enough to upset the tuning if you block it off nice and good.
  4. Welcome Aussie. The Poms will be awake soon and surely know the answer.
  5. Yep. I left Reciever's Expenses off the top of the list.
  6. Granted they were out of order, but in their minds they were expressing respect. I think the family probably didn't mind. Ozzy sure didn't. Showbiz innit?
  7. We played a festival gig and I came equipped with my brand new mic to broadcast my carefully crafted tone to the masses. Drama unfolded. "Here's your DI" "I got two basses and a 2 channel preamp and this neato flat mic all set to go" "Just give us the DI" "How about listening to the mic?" "Just give us the DI" BL jumps in with some complaints that I am the most difficult bass player he ever worked with. DI gets my mic lead and away we go. The drummer's 2x15 plus horn monitor completely obliterates what is coming from my poxy 210. It sounds pukka except it is drowning out the band. Sound person accuses me of sandbagging and wants me to turn down. The drum monitor gets turned down some but still louder than my cab. More complaints that I am blowing up the mix, with my 210 pointed up at me, on a festival stage. We haven’t been invited back.
  8. The sum total of your mojo is some snapped off brittle plastic slider caps. As it sounds great my advice is leave it alone and play through it daily.
  9. FYI. NZ law is basically UK law with wrinkles so I would be surprised if yours is any different wrt bankruptcy. Taxman. Secured Creditors. Wages and Salaries. Unsecured Creditors. Nobody gets anything until those higher have got theirs. In the case of a merchant buying stock and selling it, the suppliers may retain title on the stock until paid. If it gets sold they become unsecured AFAIK. Customers paying for stuff with a credit card or electronic debit card have a claim back through the bank. If you walked in and paid cash or eftpos you are SOL.
  10. Rescued from a time capsule? My 250SMX has lead an easy life and compared to your looks like it went along with the Omaha beach landing.
  11. I don't know why this wasn't clear enough.
  12. Measure up your Ashown box. Find the volume of your new box. One of these experts will cheerfully work out what port length is required to emulate the original design tuning in the half size boxes.
  13. OK, what is the 9M cost of sales covering?
  14. 232 is less than 245. If you add 1cm to each dimension it is still less than 245. Ombudsman time.
  15. Man, some big rocks some people live under when a V4B is an unknown. Enjoy your light load tubes. An Elf makes an excellent backup.
  16. It won't open with Adobe like every other pdf I grab on my phone???
  17. When it comes to the OP, less would be nothing at all. DeOxit has wrecked a lot of gear according to Agedhorse. Less is more is a good maxim.
  18. 1 bass smuggled into the house in parts over 20 years is the crime of the century. You might get away with it. Depends how silly the other is. They may not really care for the skullduggery all the same.
  19. I take it you are used to the Elf getting quite warm tp the touch when working? Overloading the input stage isn't going to make diddly squat extra heat before it would sound incredibly angry. I think your fan isn't working or you obstructed it somehow.
  20. Half of that extra loud is sucked up with modern drivers being half as sensitive as the vintage ones old BMP was using with his 50w amp.
  21. How's the tonez?
  22. The Venture is an all new Yamaha, much as Peavey revitalized Trace Elliot, minus bass player enthusiasm.
  23. By my maths that is two 200w tube amos. Divide and conquer.
  24. Thread title could benefit of a change. "Most unwelcome overplaying guest soloist at open jam".
