  1. Plagiarism is the best form of flattery. Or of making stinky poo loads of cash quick. You choose
  2. Not cheap for that model and potentially very expensive if the seller is hiding anything about the issue. I had a problem with a US bought Modulus Flea, given US state law on these things the £600 repair in the UK at my own expense was the only viable option
  3. Nice album for the Zevon fan https://www.amazon.co.uk/Enjoy-Every-Sandwich-Songs-Warren/dp/B0002XED9E
  4. First rehearsal since March 2020 and we covered some band tracks. Ex guitarist has moved to drums and, having watched the BBC doc said "I'd always known about The Band but as a guitarist assumed they were a country band. But when you get into the rhythm parts, most of their stuff was really funky". My kind of drummer. First time I've played Cripple Creek with a drummer who got the feel. Singer & guitarist said "That felt really different, not sure what it was, bit it was really different". Sums The Band's music up nicely does that
  5. Yep, that finish is a design feature. I've always fancied a Precision Bass with twin SCs but sadly way more than I'd like to pay
  6. Looks like a great bass, but a bit pricey
  7. Digbeth doesn’t roll off the tongue does it
  8. Love his playing, what FL should sound like
  9. I love it Although, for some reason, I also visualised it being played by Sting (perhaps it has lute-like qualities?) which has put me off a little
  10. Great bass. Check Kent. Check New gig. Check Mmmmmm
  11. Saw that, the board is probably screwed however (and by no means an easy fix, I've had to pay for two similar examples to be fixed over the years), and there's no way apparently of viewing before buying. Even at its current price I'd keep clear given that. Money going to charity is a bonus of course
  12. Good advice, but not 100% safe. This was what I found frustrating (from email between me and DV247 last year). Despite having paid for an in-stock item in the UK, it couldn't be sent to me because it was out of stock in Germany? I think their systems are the problem, might be very efficient for the business, but not for the customer. Might be different now, but might not, might simply be a lottery?
  13. I might be wrong, but I think a big part of the problem with DV247 is that, certainly when I had the two issues I referred to above, the website gives you the impression you are dealing with a UK busIness holding stock in the UK.
  14. I ordered a cab from Bass Direct early PM yesterday, payment was easy, and I received a very nice email within minutes thanking me for my custom, nice experience. Doorbell just rang and it's the bloody cab, I make that around 18 hours from me first seeing it to their delivering it. Absolutely bloody awesome service, especially given the accounts I'm hearing of other (and bigger) shops making a complete mess of things at the moment. Well done Mark and team, and many thanks. Chris
  15. My last two orders with Dv247 were chaos, totally illogical processes and rude comms. Never again.
  16. No mate, spot on. Makes me laugh when I sell something and people make me a trade offer at a significantly higher perceived value for their item - often several hundred pounds higher - than the price they're currently asking for the same item in the FS Forums 🤔
  17. Lovely amp, but if you'll forgive the derail, that really made me smile and should be a sticky for trade offers. The statement "...which I value at...." is followed in my head by use of the formula PV/~2 = LV
  18. Reverb will get better as people depart ebay
  19. That’s absolutely the best advice you’ll get
  20. Very optimistic isn't it Steve? I guess if the seller is unaware of current trends in used gear prices, is aware of what a blindingly good rig it is, and paid a bloody fortune for it back in the day, the price perhaps seems reasonable. Either way I hope the seller isn't depending on the proceeds, the BIN is about £2,500 above what the two could currently be bought for with a bit of patience and luck
  21. Glorious, glorious amp. I sold this mid-Covid lockdown because cash was short and I wanted to keep my SVT. As prospects of gigs looked bleak I then sold my SVT, so I keep coming back to this page wondering if I can justify buying it back. These come up for sale only very rarely, because people who have them tend to keep them. As Nik says, it's the Rolls Royce of bass amps, one of the best Mesa ever made, and that's up against some pretty stiff opposition
