Ric 4000 & rock stride. Two out of three ain't bad mate

Agreed, they were authentic weren't they, don't know how much pitch correction was being used but there seemed to be sufficient error to allow us to think none, in which case they were amazing, in fact all of them were. The band that went out in the sudden death thing last might hot a 5-part harmony at one point! I think most of the acts made X-Factor/Voice/BGT acts look synthetic

There's talent, and then there's TALENT

Have to say mate that anyone who promotes bands and looking for new talent who isn't on the phone right now is missing out, some great talent on there

There was some great singing wasn't there Mick, the winners certainly weren't the best band, but I suspect that as all good music does, they struck a chord......?

They were good trousers, reminded me a little of The Ruttles, but that's a long time ago

And of course, in the pre-COVID days when I had some cash, I would have posted a 'Wanted Ric 4000' thread

Watching Little Mix the Search with the family and, crikey, there's a bloke playing a Ric 4000, made my day Band's called Since September, it was nice to see something vaguely rock and guitar-based on one of these shows. And as far as I'm concerned, anyone with the good sense and good taste to play a 4000 should win any talent show they care to enter for that factor alone

Firstly name and shame the company in question on here. Secondly get medieval on their social media. Third write an email to their MD and post that on social media also.

They were also the precursor to the Highway One series.

Memory just kicked in! It's an American Traditional Jazz Bass, plenty online about them (and on BC), but a nice bass assuming it's structurally fine.

I forget the name of the series (American Classic perhaps?), but they are very nice basses and a major step up from standard MIM at that time. IIRC they were US parts assembled in Mexico. I paid £400 for one about 15 years ago, so anything less than £600 and I'd consider it a decent deal.

Looks awful with single PUP cover and all those PUPs, like wearing a waistcoat and a cardigan. Think it’s one of those must-have basses that quickly becomes one of those must-sell basses 😞

That's if they do work But yes, agreed, most HMBs are simply more stable, although as someone who mostly plays heavy flats, I find that the sheer mass and tension of the stings tends to keep even the lightest of bridges in it's place
