  1. I wonder if this is, in part, why he's still out there, he seems to possess a set of characteristics that probably make it difficult even for law enforcement to to get any traction
  2. Which, sadly, is just another layer of addiction.....
  3. I don't disagree, being a gambling addict doesn't disbar for one second you from membership of the Complete C**t Club, in fact it tends to help your application, but as is the case with other addictions, it can be the root cause of the other behaviours, the factor that if we wanted all of the other stuff to stop, would have to be addressed and resolved first
  4. Well at the bottom of the cover there's IV....
  5. RN was also known as IV
  6. As it should be
  7. Nothing does that, SLBs are good but not DBs
  8. Nice sound ๐Ÿ‘
  9. Yep. One of the few apparently positive (but in real terms negative) aspects of gambling addiction compared to drug addiction is that it's not so obvious socially; plenty of addicted gamblers appear to live normal healthy lives even when in the midst of a serious long-term addiction, which is rarely the case with drugs; the signs of drug addiction are often quite clear to the naked eye. So yes, a thread on social media about your actions - which may or may not be the result of gambling of course but I'm assuming from the above might be - is indicative that its got very bad indeed
  10. ....and over time your brain circuitry and chemistry will change which means that you will come to think, feel and behave around gambling exactly the same way as a heroin or crack addict thinks, feels and behaves around drugs. Sadly however, you will run out of money even faster than does even the most addicted drug addict, from where you will find yourself lying to family and friends in order to borrow money (which you will never be able to repay), from where you will start to act with questionable ethics around money that comes your way via your employment, a process that might start with minor theft but which can quickly escalate to major fraud, from where you will start to borrow larger sums from dubious people, and from where you will finally progress to out-and-out criminality that, because unlike the worst drug addiction you can never have enough money to fuel a gambling addiction, will result in either your being arrested and likely imprisoned, or worse still as the people who you owe money to - either the gambling debt or the money you borrowed to gamble in the first place - catch up with you. I'd rather take my chances on drugs frankly
  11. Sound on Sound link here https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/goran-grooves-handy-drums Look interesting for someone like me who pretty much just wants the virtual equivalent of a simple old school drum machine albeit with more authentic sounds?
  12. Reminds me of a mate from Tyneside who had some ceramics installed to a very high standard in his kitchen by a tradesman who went by the name of The Bonny Tyler ๐Ÿ‘
  13. Thoughts are with you mate ๐Ÿ‘
  14. That it appears to be held in high regard guarantees I will give it another listen I assure you ๐Ÿ‘
  15. I suspect that in the final analysis our children are our harshest critics. It's easy to look at the way a person behaved at a point in time and think "I would never have done that". But of course, we were never that person in that situation, and none of us have the slightest idea what that felt like or more importantly, what the options might have been. Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes, and as is very clear from the film, his shoes were not easy to walk in, metaphorically or otherwise
  16. Absolutely agree, sobering that I was the same age as she is now when RN was released, feels like yesterday, but great that we can enjoy the same music ๐Ÿ™
  17. Cheaper version? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304630232348?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=4SZQblGJQim&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=155UlNbXQGW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  18. Trust me mate, I was there (part of the problem)! It'll grow I'm sure, just a bit removed from what I've been listening to, thanks for the head's up ๐Ÿ‘
  19. Just went back to RN and it just feels better ๐Ÿ‘ And playing it to my kids during supper, we got to Hanging Around and my 10 year old daughter said "I love this song Dad" "Wow, have you heard me playing it before? "No Dad, it's on TikTok" Not sure of that's a good thing or a bad thing, but it's a thing
  20. You Sir are in the wrong profession (unless you're a professional mind reader) ๐Ÿ‘
  21. With the exception of Duchess, The Raven isn't working for me at present, feels a little too like Stranglers-Light for me, everything a little too precise and, well nice. Couple of tracks a bit too early 80's generic pop, and a couple of moments of real Trevor Horne/Buggles/Propaganda that really pushed back at me. Will give it another listen but feels a long way emotionally from Rattus?
  22. Actually, the J-PUP is why i like it, I'd almost certainly replace the mudbucker with something a little less, well muddy, but there's something deeply mongrel about this bass that makes me smile. I suspect it's going to need a play first however
  23. Hi Celeste, I'll drop you a PM now (private message), click on the envelop icon at the top right of the page to find it Cheers Chris
