  1. I used to grow chillies in a South facing conservatory. My biggest problem was using all the fruit they produced. I did have to water them twice a day to just keep them alive and chillies don't like much water.
  2. I think Vulfpeck are terrible and RHCP are boring and I don't enjoy Jaco
  3. I don't know where you read that but it's wrong. It's well under 2000 at 70mph.
  4. Just play reggae on hot days. It'll be just like you're in Jamaica
  5. My point was that cruising 1600rpm in a car that redlines at 4500rpm is less relaxed than cruising at 1600rpm in a car that reclines at 8000rpm. That was the point about a high top speed being good for cruising at low speed. Also, it's not tiny. It's just further away than you think.
  6. You don't have to do the full 200mph but such a high top speed means it's barely ticking over at 70mph. I have got close to the top speed but on a runway, not a road.
  7. You forgot about the silver wear, paintings and expensive alcohol. I can't afford to leave those behind, not at 18mpg.
  8. I know it's illegal to say this, but I don't like Precision or Jazz basses.
  9. I regularly play those three, they're all great. I forgot Tad, how did I forget about them? I'll be playing Greasebox later. Melvins are always great
  10. I went for the fancy glass then was particularly nice to Mrs XFR (she's a lucky lady) for a couple weeks and then bought an Epiphone Thunderbird vintage pro plus a set of DR DDT strings.
  11. When I bought my conservatory, the difference in cost was about a Squier classic vibe 70's precision plus a set of strings.
  12. Does temperature change really affect guitars that much? There are pro musicians travelling all over the world with the same instruments for decades, going from cold cargo hold of a plane to baking hot festival tent then back to a cargo hold and off somewhere cold.
  13. Slower to 60 due to the auto box and no launch control but a lot faster when it gets going. It sounds better as well. They're holding their value due to rarity, I think it's 150 they built in total. 24mpg isn't just optimistic, it's a lie. Mine does 18 on average. I also pay considerably less tax due to mine originally being registered as a prototype.
  14. What you want is a Jaguar XFR. I can fit in a 4x10, 3 basses and a load of other gear, it has a brilliant Bowers & Wilkins sound system and do near enough 200mph. What more could you need? If you need more space there's the XFR-S estate which has even more power, is louder and is completely unhinged
  15. I had a conservatory built on our last house. We went for the top spec, high tech glass with the best thermal efficiency for keeping warmth in during winter and heat out during summer. It was very good in the winter but during summer it regularly got over 40 Celsius. UV damage could be an issue as well.
  16. That's a beautiful bass. I've wanted one based on the sounds Rex Brown used to get out of his
  17. I seem to be learning grunge classics at the moment. Rooster has been the most fun so far. Any other suggestions for great grunge songs to play?
  18. I came across this earlier about the Chilli Peppers lowest point. I'm not a huge fan of post BSSM chilli peppers but I'll listen now and then but this song blows.
  19. Long slow goodbye - Queens Of The Stone Age
  20. I'm afraid mine is rather simple but I think it's now right how I want it Harley Benton power supply Boss TU3 tuner Origin Effects Cali76 compressor Darkglass vintage microtubes overdrive Two Notes LeBass preamp. The Le Bass has a beautiful creamy clean channel and the dirty channel just adds a nice, light valve overdrive. The vintage microtubes is set to give a really nice dirty tone when combined with the Le Bass clean channel. The compressor is just always on. It's all a bit monochrome looking but gives the sounds I want. I am very tempted to replace the Le Bass with a Origin Effects bassrig super vintage.
