What would a 500w Elf offer that the dozens of other solid state 500w amps don't already offer? I'd really like a modern TE SMX amp with the 11 band EQ that is loud and doesn't go up in smoke and doesn't require a crane to shift it. I loved the sound of my old SMX but I blew it up three times and it wasn't loud enough.

You'd have got closer to that bass tone if you kicked the cat

My taste in music is not what one would describe as mainstream. Very few people I know like a lot of the same music as me. Rather than seeing it as isolating I've always enjoyed the experience of being in an audience with like minded people at shows. Maybe it's me talking (or typing) b0110cks but maybe there's a connection amongst that audience that couldn't exist in the audience of a band with mass appeal.

Epiphone make the Grabber and Ripper and a Kris Novoselic signature RD. Epiphone seem to be better than Gibson these days.

Gibson also need to sort out the Thunderbird so that it sounds at least as good as the Epiphone vintage pro

Orange Amplifiers make a 2x12 cab Anyone please make a modular, extendable pedal board so that when it's full I can just buy another section to bolt on. DR Strings I want 130 - 065 four string sets for very low tunings. Some green neons would be nice thanks

I like that. It's definitely his very distinctive style but without sounding like Killing Joke. Maybe a bit repetitive but otherwise sounds excellent.

Back to the 90's this morning with a bit of grunge but the Alice In Chains record I never listen to because I forgot how awesome it is. Some of it gets really dark.

It's also an inconvenient place to park. In the city centre you could at least combine a vist there with something else so you're not paying £6 to park to just buy a set of strings. The new shop location means you can't combine the parking fee for other business unless you want to go in Fowlers and buy a motorbike while you're there.

I wasn't too impressed last time I went in. I tried a p bass, they set me up next to a guitarist with a really loud amp and when I turned up the amp they set me up with so I could just about hear it a sales person came over and turned it down. The bass felt nice but I've no idea how it sounded.

I was offered tickets to see Andy Powells Wishbone Ash in Frome last night, unfortunately I couldn't make it. I had some communication with Bob Skeat about a bass I was selling. He came across as a nice bloke, offered tickets after deciding it wasn't the right bass. Hopefully I'll see them another time. I heard from a friend the show last night was very good.
