  5. Toxic garbage island - Gojira
  6. FNM have such an amazing range of musical styles, often all in one song. I love the way they can go from heavy, distorted metal with growling straight in to almost lounge jazz with super slick vocals and it just sounds right. I really hope they manage at least one more record. I really like the last one.
  7. Waiting Room - Fugazi
  8. Apparently he did the string arrangements for a few songs. REM knew what they wanted it to sound like but didn't know how to get there so the producer called up John Paul Jones to get the job done right.
  9. Don't do it. The space is what gives it that feel. I tried adding in the notes that feel like they should be there. I recorded it and played it back and it kind of works but isn't as good.
  10. Saturnine and Iron Jaw - Sll Them Witches
  11. I had the same problem with Maiden in my teenage years but love a bit of Maiden now. I also hated Megadeath because of Mustains vocals and 25 years later nothing has changed.
  12. Another world - Gojira
  13. Welcome to Adamstown - Flogging Molly
  14. Prehistoric dog - Red Fang
  15. Eighties - Killing Joke
  16. Just had a bash at Pandemonium. That's proper fun to play and really similar to one of my bands originals called The Hoard. I can't play it without using my right thumb to mute the E (low D) string
  17. As a teenager I liked the very early pop punk but hated reggae. Now I like reggae and hate pop punk, I mean can't stand it.
  18. I can Harley speak - Bombay Bicycle Club
  19. Atheist Anthem - Leftover Crack
  20. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition - Serj Tankian
  21. I thought I should learn some REM and this song has an excellent bass part. First thing I realised is there's far less notes than you'd think, loads of space in there. What I'm finding a little tricky is some weird rhythms. I need to learn some more of their songs
  22. Here it is
  23. Thanks for the explanation. I remember an interview (I think with Jazz) where he said when the band first started, Geordie told them he was the greatest guitarist in the world but actually couldn't play at all! He soon picked it up alright though.
  24. Does Geordie play with an unusual style or is it just the overdriven hollow body guitar that creates that distinctive sound?
  25. Black hole sun - Soundgarden
