I've seen Ministry (American industrial metal band) several times over the years and singer Al Jorgensen has always been a great performer and was a heroin addict for most of his career but the last couple times I saw them, he'd kicked the heroin and was on weed and performing better than ever. He seemed more energetic than before despite being really old. According to the man himself, he just got bored of heroin and just stopped one day and started smoking weed instead. Personally, I've always avoided drugs because I lost a couple mates to addiction and ultimately death. Ibuprofen is my only drug of choice due to many old injuries.

I do like a multiscale. Harley Benton are OK but the one HB guitar I bought took a fair bit of setting up and the neck was drier than a camels dry bits but regular light applications of lemon oil and its all good now. I suspect it may have spent some time in a warehouse in the hottest part of China

I remember when that bloody video was everywhere. There's still a mountain bike trail at Longleat named after it because one annoying little turd (not me) in the build group thought it was hilarious.

This is a question on behalf of XFR Jr. She's ripped off a finger nail on her fretting hand and has a gig next Friday, hour and a half of energetic rock. Any advice? XFR hound has ripped off a claw as well and has a cone of shame. I'm unsure whether this will help XFR Jr but may be worth a try.

Have they? Most of the bassists using those products use them just because they cut through really heavy guitars and give really good clarity with very low tunings. I've never actually known a metal musician who's a fan of Periphery.

Can you handle enough drugs to join them?

They're a great band, really good live. I don't know why they get labelled as punk. They did a handful of punk songs before going off in another direction, almost prog at times. One of my favourite gigs was The Damned supporting Motorhead.

Good advice. I did this with a difficult to sell car (massive V8, not American or German) and got several thousand pounds more than dealers offered for trade in.

It's not a rip off. They offered a price that makes the deal worthwhile to them. You weren't happy with the price so you decided not to take their offer. No harm is done. No one got ripped off. Its all fine.

That's interesting. The Eden cab has a very harsh sound so I may change it anyway. The attack when playing with a pick is like a sledge hammer on a metal tank. With fingers it's fine but since I'm mostly playing punk, I'm mostly using a pick.

The reason I ask is I've gone from an Orange OBC410 to an Eden Nemesis 210 and the Eden doesn't sound as big but it's definitely louder. This surprised me.

Right, I'll brace myself for the accusations that I'm an idiot. Will a 1x10, 2x10 and 4x10 cab output the same volume levels for the same volume setting on the same amp?

There have been developments. Someone offered me a nice Ashdown amp so I'll no longer be going for a power amp. Thanks for the replies

I didn't play any musical instrument for 9 months last year. I picked up a bass again for the first time at Christmas. 5 minutes playing and my fingers hurt. I'm struggling to write music now, it used to cone to me much more naturally.

I'm in need of an amp and thinking about running a preamp pedal in to a power amp. I used to effectively do this by running my Two Notes Le Bass in to the effects return of an Orange Terror to bypass the Orange Terror's preamp because it sounded terrible. Are there any good power amps for running this sort of setup? I'll probably want 300 - 500 Watts and I'll probably use a Two Notes ReVolt Bass. Would I be better off buying a cheap Peavey, Ashdown or Hartke amp and just using the same setup as before?

I'm afraid he is and his ego comes out on occasions but there's also a lot with Pepper Keenan and Mike Williams from Eyehategod and the singer from Acid Bath who's name I forget.

I'm listening to some Yob this morning. Absolutely brilliant post metal. I believe the bassist is a member of this forum.
