  1. I had a listen to the Bass Channel version today. It's a definite improvement. Maybe the bass is a little high in the mix but considering the context of this particular video that is understandable.
  2. I did an apprenticeship in engineering back in the 90's and the abuse was pretty relentless for the full four years of my training. Most of it I found quite funny and laughed along with them but the other apprentice bit back and got it twice as bad. I soon realised you just had to go with it. None of it would be allowed these days but on the other side, ignoring the abuse, the standard of mentoring was higher, apprenticeships were twice as long and you were expected to do the job and not just used as cheap labour. It all went wrong when HR departments became a thing.
  3. Judging by his twitter I'd say James Blunt isn't a fan of his music either.
  4. Who buys that rubbish? Seriously, it's bloody awful.
  5. People take offence. Usually when none was offered and that is stealing.
  6. I think this man makes some good points on this subject.
  7. I tried using natural yoghurt to treat it. A muller crunch Corner wasn't the ideal choice though.
  8. You still see teenage CoF at their shows now in full Corpse paint as well as the 40 year old in wrinkly corpse paint
  9. I remember an interview with Geezer Butler where he described his occult themed lyrics as being no different to a horror film. I think that's a good description. You can't have crushingly heavy music and lyrics about how lovely roses smell o a summer day. Summer Breeze by Type O Negative is a bit of an exception to this.
  10. I believe its about taking back the word from the racists and using it themselves.
  11. I find bland music most offensive. Dull, lifeless bland toss like Buble, Coldplay Will Young, James Blunt and just about everything else on Radio 2. Music is art and art should never be bland. At least music traditionally seen as offensive has something you remember after hearing it and at least it triggers some sort of emotion even if it's disgust. I feel my time has been wasted if I hear something which just leaves me bored.
  12. They've had a few absolutely brilliant albums but at least as many absolutely stinking albums. St Anger was pretty terrible in most ways. Load was pretty weak. S&M just plain sucked. Everything they did with Cliff was superb but after that they've been a bit hit and miss.
  13. You could have all the same gear as your favourite musician and still sound nothing like them because you don't play like them. Go to a shop with a good selection, try some and then buy the one you enjoy playing most. That way the only decision to make is what colour Stingray you want.
  14. I looked up the Marshall Superbass on YouTube and nearly all the videos are demos with a guitar, just one dude with a Gibson Ripper
  15. I would imagine it would work well with the 4x15 Marshall cab. I guess the lower power isn't a problem if you want a dirty sound, it just won't do clean at a high volume.
  16. Obviously I didn't mean Alestorm and Gloryhammer. I meant the other, good, clean living, nice pirate metal bands.
  17. Marshall originally intended it as a bass amp but it was more commonly used as a guitar amp because it was closer to being a guitar amp. It was under powered as a bass amp and didn't sound like a bass amp.
  18. Well then there's clearly something wrong with you.
  19. That's probably for the best. I love Misfits but Jerry's bass (not his playing) sounds bloody awful. I'd say Lemmy has to be one of the most distinctive, Rickenbacker through marshall guitar amps played as a rhythm guitar is never going to sound like everyone else. Flea is quite distinctive. I'm no Chilli Peppers fan but instantly recognised his bass sound on Alanis Morissette's songs. He just has a really distinctive style.
  20. Spinning in the daffodils - Them Crooked Vultures
