    Nice one, thanks @Pea Turgh. Is it worth the gamble (& expense) of making it slightly lighter & improving its looks? Probably not. Will I have a go anyway? Quite possibly. Am I capable? No chance.

    I assume the main reason why it’s so heavy is the body? I really fancy respraying the body with nitro paint as I like how the bass feels and sounds, but wonder if it’s worth buying an eBay JB body and using that instead, based on the heft of the HB.

    I really don’t need this - or to be £500 lighter - but… what a deal. I’ve never even played anything nicer/more expensive than a mim fender. I’m definitely not a good enough bass player to warrant it. But so tempting. You’ll surely get a quick sale at this price.

    Yes, it feels great. Mind you, I am upgrading from a £140 Harley Benton JB. The Fender weighs about 4% of the HB. Its got flats on it; never used ‘em before. Lovely. Props to the GAS - a concept (well the label at least) that I learnt on this forum.

    I’ve never been so keen to rehearse with the band (formed during lockdown, we haven’t started yet) but agree it’s probably not that safe yet. Keep trying to justify it
