  1. The one on the right reminded me more of my Lakland Skyline 4401. Never liked the look of the lower horn. Not as bad as the one on the Bongo though 😎
  2. This week I lost out on a stunning looking Stingray Special in natural. Well, it means that I am on the market again for another one or a Classic in natural. Let me know if you want to part with one. I have already put an ad in the "Items Wanted" section but no response so far πŸ₯΄
  3. Agree. However, even though I have never met Peter Hook, judging from his interviews and performances, he does not come across as someone how would care too much about marketing. Anyway, to please the marketing men and show some love for Salford (well, indirectly), he could have gone for "Greater Manchester, England" 😁
  4. That reminds me of something: As Peter Hook is from Salford and still seems to be proud of the place (See "Salford rules" in the video below), shouldn't it then say "Salford, England" on the back of the headstock instead of "Manchester, England"? πŸ˜‰
  5. Cheers. I have to admit that I've never heard of Alexis Sklarevski. However, he clearly has an excellent taste in basses (not so much in spectacles though ;- ) I'll check him out! The 77 indeed only has one split single coil (as it is a homage to the first NS-1 from 77) but the Euro 79 LE has an additional single coil in the bridge position (as it is a homage to the first NS-2, launched in 79). I've never played a 79 but I am sure it is as great if not even better than the 77! Euro4 LE1979 by Spector Bass Guitars
  6. Ok, back to Spector: Early Christmas present from BD. Just saw on BD' FB page that Mark got hold of the last two Spector Euro 77 LE πŸ˜€ I have the 77 myself and I can tell you that this LE is amazing, super nice and thin neck, killer sound (P bass on steroids) and for a great price. Check it out here: https://bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Spector_LE_4_SE_1977.html
  7. Wow, this looks great and so much better than the ones I saw online and in YT videos. It is also signed by the man himself (in addition to the printed signature), cool stuff 😍
  8. I think you could be right. Maybe it is a test rum to see how much interest there really is in a PH sig bass. Depending on the identified demand, they may decide to build some more. That's why they don't say themselves that it is a limited edition.
  9. On Bass Direct's FB page, Mark mentions that there are 47 in the UK
  10. I know, I know, it was a bit sneaky 😁 91 had some great albums but I had to smuggle AIC, Tool and RATM in. I was even considering smuggling in 93 to feature Tool's Undertow. I just want rock music to reach the mainstream again, so that more people become aware of it and get interested in it and play it too. Thinking of it, however, it may be an old school, pre- Internet, pre-social media, pre-streaming way of thinking. I guess I am just getting old, nostalgic and Covid-cabin fever ridden πŸ₯΄ Let's just do what Stuart Spector told me when I met him once at a LBGS: "Play music and bring joy to the people". Still remember that!
  11. 91/92 - Some of my favs: 1. AIC - Dirt 2. Pearl Jam - Ten 3. Temple of the Dog - Temple of the Dog 4. STP - Core 5. Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger 6. Tool - Opiate 7. RATM - RATM 8. Nirvana - Nevermind 9. Primal Scream – Screamadelica 10. The Brand New Heavies - The Brand New Heavies and, of course, as this list goes to 11 11. Spinal Tap - Break Like the Wind 😎
  12. Would be great for a new version of "Who wants to be a millionaire" but with 80 answer categories πŸ˜€ Speaking of WWTBAM, I still like this version:
  13. ask @Woodinblack 😁
  14. Nice one, I think it is called creating a "cognitive dissonance". Don't worry, I was only teasing you, the BB is not on my radar, so please, "listen to your heart" (yes, nostalgic today) πŸ™‚
  15. Some more info about the BBPH. The finish is called "fired red". Really like the sound but still don't like the look of it (you can see what I meant at e.g. 1:13). Such a shame. I had been looking forward to its release for ages and then I just don't like it. Aarrggh. Not my week, lost out on a stunning looking Stingray and then the "fired red" finish downer. Anyway, it is what it is. I am sure they will sell them all.
  16. As I said, they are still teenagers and already opening for big acts. Let's see how far they can take it. I wish them all the best πŸ‘ Sure, feel free to listen to EDM. Still hope rock will have a (mainstream) comeback. Maybe this pandemic just makes me nostalgic and I just want it to be 1991 all over again 😞
  17. BTW, you really should be with me on this one because otherwise I will ask my wife to bail me out and give me an emergency loan (Β£900) and you know what I will do with that money πŸ˜†
  18. They are still "teenagers" and I think they have the potential to go places. Opening for band such as Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Alice Cooper and the Killers is definitely a good start, don't you think? When I was that age, I was not playing in a band, I was not even playing an instrument but listening to "Who's that girl", "The Living Daylights" and "Never gonna give you up" on the radio πŸ˜‰
  19. C'mon, she is just 15 years old and I really hope "The Warning" will be huge with their record deal. This is the next generation and we really need some new rock bands. I am sick of all the EDM stuff and I hope more and more kids of EDM listening parents want to rebel and re-discover good old fashioned rock. That's why I also like Nandi Bushell who is a great drummer for her age (10, I think). She will join the Foo Fighters on stage at a concert when they tour the UK next. I will be there πŸ™‚ BTW, Ale will also have a Spector sig bass next year. Someone over at FB showed it. It is a bit too bling (sparkly gold) for my taste but great to see Spector supporting young talent πŸ‘
  20. Alejandra Villarreal, bass player in "The Warning" together with her two sisters. They are really good.
