1.
If you like the sound as it is, but want louder, get another the same. A 15 underneath will probably not do much more than a crate of equal height, cause 15s don't move as much air and will probably do less with the power.
+1 If you like your tone, but want more volume, get another of the same.
2. Providing that the two 210s were identical together as the 410 then I'd go with the 210s so I could stack them vertically.
3. I believe there is a reasonable difference in terms of sound. From what I've heard from people who've used both the F1 has tighter lows, a bit more upper mids and highs and generally sounds "quicker" or more modern than the LMII. The LMII is supposed to be warmer and more "old school" in comparison. Also, check on Talkbass, becuase I know for sure that there are loads of threads on this topic there.
4. I think stuff like the LMII or F1 would still be popular. Good sounding heads IMO; people don't love them just because of the size (though that is nice).
5. A single Barefaced Midget should be pretty loud by itself.
6. What about the Barefaced Midget? It seems to be voiced well for rock.
7. Generally how's it with a Dingwall?
8. I've heard good stuff about the Carvins, especially for the price.
9. Even speakers that are the same size can have phase issues together.
10.
Since 'punch' is a purely subjective term one can't say. One also can't predict what any cab will sound like based on driver size alone, this explains why: http://www.eminence.com/resources/data.asp Most who combine a 1x15 and 4x10 do so assuming that a 1x15 will go lower than a 4x10. Usually that's not the case, nor will a 1x15 be as loud as a 4x10. The best addition to a 4x10 is another identical 4x10.
+1
11. That's great! I'm considering a LMIII T'DM combination.
12.
I have read this thread the while way through... And it was a read and a half! :-) I agree with about 50%, and read the rest as peoples frustration. None of the comments read here put me off. I currenty play MarkBass, who have a great reputation. I am however on my 3rd MarkBass Amp head due to the last 2 dying on me! I still use them though. In the very near future I will be the owner of the 1st T'Double Midget cab, I'm excited about recieiving it and not at all put off by others views and experiences. Shep
I'm really interested in the T'Double Midget. Do you know when you're getting it?
13. I haven't seen Alex make any outlandish claims about his cabs, bigfatbass.
14. The Double Midget looks like it's going to be really good. I'd wait for one of them myself (which I am doing ).
15. What about the Double Midget?
16. Hartke LH500 or a Markbass LMII.
17. How's the T'DM coming along Alex?
18. If you want it to be very loud, you may want to consider a more powerful head than the LMII. Either that or get a Barefaced Double Midget, which is a great deal more sensitive than the Big One.
19. I should imagine the Shuttle 9.0 would be good with T'Double Midget. It's got the power to boost the bass right up. By the way, how's that going?
20. This is such a good price. I was going to buy a Markbass F1, but for 80 quid more I get 400W more power at 4 ohms!
21. How much was it? If you don't mind me asking. edit: It seems to be £679 from Bass Direct.
