You have read correctly. It's definitely good enough for the Dog and Duck! To be fair I have only had a chance to have a little play and only through a couple of basses (e.g only just realised from reading the TB thread that I might need to change some global settings OOTB!). IMA has had time to perfect technique and, I suspect equally importantly, work out which bass and which settings work best. It's certainly not a massive detractor for what is an amazing little pedal! I had a quick scan through the thread and my review would be more favourable. I play in two bands, one is very much soul/funk covers where I might need the pedal for 2 or 3 songs out of 20, and for that, this is perfect. It's taken me long enough to play bass to a decent standard and I have no interest in learning keys to get those sounds. I would also argue that the presets decently cover the sorts of sounds I'm after. Its definitely a million times better than trying to build the sounds on the Helix - I guess I could have bought IMA's HX stomp patches, but they're not far off the cost of this. Ultimately it's 'horses for courses' but worth trying if you get a chance.

Got mine yesterday. Had a play this morning and echo a lot of the above. This is perfect for those of us who might need a synth sound for two or three numbers up in a set. The presets are fab and there’s more than enough settings to tweak. It’s a lot of fun! Tracking is good enough and I hope better when I get it on the board with a compressor. Mr Martin Allison must have amazing technique or there’s some editing in the vids! All in all a very good bit of kit that really does provide the synthiness I need.

Level 42 supported by Roachford tonight in Cambridge. If I’m honest, Roachford is the draw for me. Amazing songwriter and performer. Still, the other lot aren’t half bad too!

Hmmm...(scratches head). Maybe it makes them much more portable? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/167385737980?mkevt=1&mkpid=2&emsid=e90001.m164960.l179212&plmtId=700008&mesgId=3037&mkcid=8&ch=osgood&bu=43035696244&trkId=01361126-f090-337c-b806-64017ed875de&cnvId=700003&recoId=167385737980&recoPos=2 Apologies if this has been posted previously

I found this useful when learning it. Apparently though the album version wasn’t Stuart Zender. Fantastic bassline and very rewarding to play in a band.

Great example of a great bass. I haven't owned a P bass since my first Hondo II P copy so bought this a year or so ago second hand to scratch that itch. Had it set up by a local luthier who changed the nut to a bone one and strung it with a set of light gauge Thomastik Infeld Strings I bought from one of the members here. I'm more of an active bass man and do have a lovely Jazz when I want to go old school, Also there's a new 4 string incoming so this is better off with someone who will use it. The price includes the flats, but happy to negotiate if someone wants the original rounds back on. Everything is working, it's nice and light and in very good condition. There are a couple of tiny marks on the back of the body and one on the front just above the top of the scratch plate. Prefer collection but happy to travel within an hour for a meetup - Essex, Suffolk, London, Herts etc. Would reluctantly post at your expense and insurance.

Whoops I did it again! Another attempt at persuading myself that I needed and could play a 5 string! Another 4 string incoming means that this must be sacrificed. Played a few times at home and 2 or 3 rehearsals, where my lack of 5 string ability was somewhat embarrassing! It really is as new (I bought it from Peach about a year ago) , there's not a mark on it and comes complete with the gig bag and tools. Nice and lightweight and all working as it should. Strung recently with a set of light gauge Newtones Specs are here Prefer collection but happy to travel within an hour for a meetup - Essex, Suffolk, London, Herts etc. Would reluctantly post at your expense and insurance.

And I played Wembley in 84…Wembley Conference Centre!

Thanks all. I think the conclusion is to bite the bullet and put in the miles so that is what I shall do!

I was trying to be a bit tongue in cheek 😌

Thanks Crazycloud. That’s exactly what worries me, especially with the Thumb.

Hey Warwick owners. Just wondering whether there’s anyone near Colchester who might own a streamer stage 1 or a thumb that might let me have a noodle. Would like to try before I buy.

So I'm interested in buying a Warwick. Either a Thumb or a Streamer SS1. There's one of each currently for sale that look around the right money, reputable sellers etc BUT they're both around a 2 hour drive from me (in different directions). Full disclosure is that I want a Streamer or a thumb based on the usual, super important and logical GAS reasons: they look really cool! They'll make me play and sound like Stuart Zender/Jack Bruce/any other fabulous Warwick endorsee! They sound great on all those YouTube reviews They use only the best tone woods They produce that legendary Warwick growl (whatever that is!) I don't have one Did I mention they look really cool! What I've never actually done of course is play either! I did have a 5 string Corvette, but these are different beasts. Now I don't fancy driving 2 hours X 4 to find I don't actually like em, so I'm wondering whether there's anyone in my locality (Colchester and surrounding) who has either of these who would be happy for a fellow basschatter to have a noodle on it to find out if he really does want to part with a load of cash for either of aforesaid basses. And then it occurred to me that this could be something that Basschatters might be happy to offer generally. I know that I would be ok with the occasional visit to try my gear.

Although some say it’s Hercules by Aaron Neville. Cracking bassline!

I’m also near Ipswich if you need it.

Masters of the universe by Hawkwind at the Lambourne Room, Ilford Town Hall with ‘Three Minute Warning’ around 83/84

I’m guessing you already know you can activate the tuner by pressing "Action" and "Page >" buttons together?

A big plus 1 for Mailchimp.

Bands you love but dislike one or two of their songs a lot
