(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction - The Rolling Stones
-
Although it looks fantastic to me, from one side it is great due to being able to move the saddle in all directions, but from other side there are two things that I do not like so much. The strings constantly falls out until they tightened, and intonation process is annoying because you need to lose the saddle and to move it manually by your finger, and it is not so precise most of the time.

You can always cover Jamiroquai - Canned Heat on the 5 strings 😊. Not an easy one, but great and tempting.

Here is my new one. During the video, You can found parts with isolated bass or bass and drums. All the descriptions of gear used are in the text part of the YT video. Would appreciate Your comments on this one.

Yes I agree for that one. Nevertheless I have some videos You describe on my YT channel with Sandberg different sound variations...
-
You are absolutely right. When I use neck pickup alone in passive mode, it sounds so similar to a Pbass. Most of the time I even not need to bring my P bass to a gig. Sandberg covers it all...... (I bring my P Bass anyway, just cause I like them 😊)

Thank You all for listening to my video. I'm more than happy to hear that it is interesting to someone. It's also very interesting how people react different to Fender and Sandberg. You can read the reactions on YouTube comments. To answer some questions: @ krispn I played Sandberg in Active mode and used only a humbucker, and I didn't want to make an P sound on it. @Cuzzie You are totally right. I should name my video 'Showing off tones', it would suit better then 'Comparison'. Also, I changed stock Glock Sandberg 2 band preamp to a 3 band Darkglass Tone Capsule with two mid eq-s. Now I'm able to make solo humbucker sound as close as it can be to a Stingray, by cutting 500Hz, and boost 2.8kHz, even with humbucker position as it is. That's the sound I was recorded in my video - not at all Pbass sound, but completely different.

Bass Groove Comparison - Fender & Sandberg, Flats & Rounds...

If we ignore the prices that are as they are in Europe right now and return to the topic of colors, I have to admit that I much preferred the previous set of colors. I had a few favorites like Cruz Teal, Chopper Blue, Charcoal Sparkle and especially an Aqua Sparkle. Unfortunately, I don't like any of the new colors ☹️. If I pull the trigger on a used one, it would be a Aqua Sparkle 4H.

Your best (and worst!) bass gear purchases of 2020?
Obra replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
I couldn't return it because I bought it on my journey through Hungary. It seemed to be just a little back bowed and I thought It would straighten under string tension, but no. Only after two weeks under pressure and heat at my luthier it straighten a bit, so he needed to refret it also so he cen level the frets in accordance to neck bow... ☹️. Worst purchase as I said before -
There is a guy Marcel Stranis. He is also not so instructional, but he knows to play and do it so relaxing. I enjoy every one of his videos

This is my '68 P. Also a link to a great address: http://vintagebassworld.com/description.php?manufacturer=Fender&product=Precision&year=0

Your best (and worst!) bass gear purchases of 2020?

The best are Fender Custom Shop Postmodern P bass, Dod Carcosa Fuzz and Dunlop Bass Mini Wah . The worst is Fender P bass maple neck S8 from 1981 (back bowed) ☹️. -

Herbie Hancock Actual Proof

Sorry for Your problem ☹️. Sandberg makes lightest solid body basses on the market. Next to standard super light models, You can order Your personal configuration from light wood and parts. It can be a great choice.
