    There would have originally been a 'smoked' perspex bridge cover which was kept in place by being wedged in by the string retainy thingies.

    Somewhere in the big wide world there is a photograph of the Beach Boys in their early days and it shows Brian Wilson using the headstock strap button on his light blue 60s P-bass. Can anyone find that pic?

    Hi there from another oldie (first paying gig 1964). I've got a 1962 Jazz but it's modified and probably not worth as much as yours - photograph would be interesting - it's our idea of porn on here.

    If there's no gap when you press 'top and bottom' you can't even be sure the neck is straight or has a 'back bow' - just off straight is a better test unless of course you can 'sight' the degree of bend in the neck and then you you need to check the truss rod can do it's job.

Also Gaffa tape for those seeking a stronger character - price on application.
