1. Anyone want to make me an offer on these ? Brilliant pickups for a custom build or pickup replacement. Pic now included (excuse the fuzziness) For the record, measuring the outside of the magnetic pole pieces, the neck is 76mm and the bridge is 78mm. These were custom built for an 18mm string spacing but pretty certain that would be fine for 17mm thru 19mm, unless someone can put me right. Bumpety bump ....
2. But Google very rarely give market value on second hand goods. Mike did give an indication of what he'd sold his 55-01's on the pre-owned market.
3. How come if someone is selling a bass on ebay/gumtree/etc and it's not worth the money, or isn't really as described then it's OK to comment ... But when it's a fellow BC'er selling on this forum we have to keep schtuum ? Honestly, I think it's fair game for someone to comment on a "For Sale" item if they think a bass is overpriced, not as spec'ed (i.e. vintage Fenders) or anything else. I welcome the comment. I might have thought about a particular bass and be relieved for a valued opinion. The whole idea of BC is to give vaue for money, and offer a medium of selling your gear to a target audience, i.e. other Bass Players. Just my tuppence worth !!!!
4. Haven't built mine yet, but now have everything I need so hoping to grab a bit of time this weekend. My Schroeder cab is pretty much 60cm x 40cm so going to build a platform pretty much this size. Will post some pics when I get started.
5. Hi Tony As you already know, I have the J-Retro deluxe in my Sei and Shuker and it's a great preamp. The way John has wired it for me is the active/passive switch is now used for the LED's and the passive tone control has a pull switch. So I pull the passive tone control, the bass goes into passive-mode and the passive tone control works. He made it so that the passive tone control doesn't work in active mode (my choice) as I thought the 3-band EQ was more than enough when active. Maybe John could wire the pickup selector switch for series/parallel and hardwire both pickups on when playing in passive? I love it when you say you want a simple circuit (no mid freq control) ... all you need is .... vol / blend / 3-band EQ / series&parallel / LED's .... Good luck with the search Stephen
6. Last price drop to £70 inc P&P. If they don't go then I'll probably keep a hold of them or stick them t'bay again.
7. You wouldn't be interested in my Big Singles would you, not 19mm spacing but would still be OK I think (going with the measurements) ?

Ideal, I might be on the market for a P5 in about a month's time :0)
9. Does it have to be new? I'm thinking of letting my Sei Jazz 5 go for £1500 or as close to ?
10. Can't believe nobody fancies these, even for a "project" bass ....
11. Superb, some pictures would be great. The Studiospares website seems to have all the parts used in their desciption of the product, so hopefully that will work fine. First stop is a piece of MDF, or chipboard and the carpet store !!!
12.
I'd not sell my Sado PJ @ ANY price.
If you really want lightweight you should sell that Metro P/J and go for the NYC model with the chambered body.
13. Well folks, not long to Christmas (!) and our party run means playing gigs on a boomy, wooden floor for 7 or 8 gigs this December. Rather than shell out £70+ on a Gramma pad big enough for a 4x10 I wondered if I should try to make my own. I reckon I could do it for at least half that price. Here's my shopping list... - Auralex Platfoam - one strip - £11'ish - MDF board, or chipboard - £3'ish - Carpet covering - £3'ish - EVO Stick £3'ish - 2 x 1ft acoustic wedges - £10'ish A little bit of time & effort and hey presto! I think I'd have some sort of Gramma Pad style thingy .... So, before I begin can anyone think of why this won't work ? Happy to make a build diary to see how it all goes, although not promising miracles.

15. Now listed on ebay at click here for £75 + £5 P&P I'll sell to fellow BC'ers for free P&P so £75 and they are yours. These retail at £180 for the pair !
16. Got me a set of Wizard pickups so these are now for sale. Bumpety bump ....
17. I've got to say it Dave, you need to bite the bullet and give Mr Shuker a call ....
18. Give us a shout when you come to sell the P5, cheers.
Unfortunately i dont drive so im not really able to go to a gig from anywhere other than my drummers house. The P5 might even belong to someone else by then as im going to sell it as soon as i sort out my DJ5. Ive never even played a fretless and im getting jealous lol.
19. I fancy a change in my Shuker bass so thinking of getting a new set of pickups. Not sure what yet but thinking of a custom set from Andy at Wizard. So putting a feeler out, to see if anyone would like to buy a set of Nordstrand Big Singles 5-string pickups. These are actually custom sized for an 18mm string spacing, not the usual 19mm the standard pickups. Bridge pickup is 70mm between centre of strings and the neck is 66mm between centre of strings if that helps. Open to offers !
20. Before I can buy pantherairsoft's Aphex compressor I need to shift my Zoom B2 effects unit. I'm going to say £45 inc p&p which seems like a fair price. Comes in original box with PSU & manual. Any takers?
21.
I think there is a precedent set in Snooze Vs Lose.
What about "If you dinnae ask, you dinnae get" ... I learned that pretty early in my teenage years
22. Apologies to all, yes I checked and it was a swap I offered. I will post in the Wanted section for one, and offer my Zoom unit in the for sale section. After checking the Wanted section to see if anyone's after one (obviously) !!!
23. I know Bump's are always going to happen on a Forum but behind the scenes it just uses diskspace, resources etc. People should rely on "search" more, especially Sale & Wanted sections. Popular forum topics will always be bumped as people reply.
