Congratulations!!! These are REALLY nice creations. I've tried one in both The Bass Gallery and Bass Direct and was very impressed 😊
-
You may be pleasantly surprised. I'm specifically referring to Sunbeams.
-
Have you tried DR rounds at all?
-
That was me.Totally given up on them now. Regardless of brand (including TI Jazz Flats) it sounded like a thick blanket was placed over my cabinets compared to using rounds. I can't see the appeal but it's all personal.

Always thought these were 17.5mm? I've had 2 Ray35's.
-
They currently have another one at the same £749 in the same finish. They also have one in the charcoal grey finish @ £1,199.00 so I'm a bit suspicious of the price difference based on what you went through.Apparently it will be shipped to the customer directly from Cort so it's not even available to try in a showroom first. I tried one roughly when you started this thread last year and it was packed with manufacturing defects.

I can accept that. I've seen jazz clips of his pre-Cream days and thought he played well in them. Just personal taste I guess.

I think Ginger was under-rated. He had incredible (to me) jazz chops.
-
Animal. That made me laugh out loud 😂

I would say he was better known as a pop singer in the 80s than a 60s/70s jazz guitarist. Chart topper was meant tongue-in-cheek but he did very well in his "second" career and made more money than ever. Actually maybe not so tongue-in-cheek,back in the 80s he had several top 10 hits in the US charts and UK charts including two number ones in the US R&B chart. So yes, 80's chart topper who sang.
-
I think this depends on the age-range of the individuals asked. Similar is George Benson. How many people know the jazz guitar giant he is versus the 80s pop singing chart topper?
-
I'm only recently learning how true this is...

Had no idea Phil Collins was so jazzy/funky on drums until I started listening to Brand X.So sad to see his current physical condition.

What year are we talking?

Goodness me they almost look good enough to eat🤤

Saw a Sire Vintage V7 five string on Ebay newly listed this morning. This evening it's now in my living room.I've done it yet again-he was a guitarist who bought it two weeks ago and when he does play bass just wants a passive 4 string P bass,he REALLY priced it to sell quickly. So in short he had zero problems selling his 5 string bass.

As a die-hard 5 string player I admit to enjoying seeing 5ers in classified ads that 4 stringers failed to get the hang of only because they sometimes can't get rid of fast enough and will sell below market value. I've nabbed a few along the way like that. One man's poison...
-
This. Advertise a 4 string at the "wrong" price and see.

While still retaining good low end? If you can find a Sadowsky in your budget give it a spin. I have a Sad preamp in my 5 string Fender Jazz and the sizzle and low end live happily side by side to my ears.
-
Bass Direct are now selling Klos necks separately as Fender replacements. I've never heard of the brand before. Have I been missing much?

I think it may boil down to personal comfort and how much you'll pay to achieve it.The Anaconda will have a flatter radius, slightly longer scale and if we're talking 5 strings will have wider 19mm string spacing over Sires. That alone on paper at least puts them over Sires (I've had a few) for me. I tried a 6 string Ultra J Essence in Wunjos once and even though I have no use for the high c string I thought it was phenomenal.
