  1. Show me where I actually said that? Please try to keep up.
  2. How about you stick to buying new but reliced instruments and I stick to buying new gear that looks new? Everybody ends up happy.
  3. I don't remember either of us saying we didn't like a bit of patina? 🤔
  4. Even though I use them I've never understood the asymmetry of jazz basses. Charvel and Markbass have symmetrical offerings and not only do they look better to my eye they sit on stands way easier.
  5. As I sit here admiring my Warwick Streamer with the 4 gold knobs in a diamond shape 😂 My Thumb however has the magic number for you of 3 AND they follow the curvature of the lower bout 😊
  6. So no Warwick 3D bridges for you either then? 😂
  7. I agree with your points made but as you said the initial response should have been an apology and a refund.
  8. They initially tried to pass the buck to the original owner? That's insane!!
  9. It's not just them I'm afraid. I had to return a Lakland Skyline DJ5 to Guitar Guitar last month for the exact same reason. I was gutted as the bass was incredible otherwise 😪 And yes you'd think that would be checked before being sold on.
  10. A Stingray 5 string with 19mm bridge string spacing and the same nut width as a Fender 5 i.e. 47.6mm due to the size of my mitts. I also can't see the point of having a fretboard radius on a stringed instrument that's not played with a bow. Leo did it to emulate classical instruments and it's sort of stuck. Flat boards all the way for me.
  11. Okay cool I stand corrected on that. It was something I heard a while back.
  12. And will getting strings to fit it be an issue?
  13. Oh dear that doesn't sound great for them 😕 I understood that the Sei brand was their main income source. If that's not the case then fine.
  14. Yes mate I'm more than aware you're here and didn't write anything I wouldn't want you to read.I thought on a public forum it's only natural that the OP will be referenced whether directly or indirectly? I'm just saying it's a journey of self discovery and I hope you either eventually bond with it or find something that works for you. My 5 string Sterling was awesome but unlike you my hands are big so it didn't work out in the end. Good luck in your quest.
  15. They're selling a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass V but calling it a Classic Vibe 70s. I messaged them on Reverb to point out the difference but no reply and nothing has changed in the description since.
  16. I genuinely believe the OP bought the Sterling for the wrong reason. No offence intended 🙏 Work on your craft and step on fresh snow and tell YOUR story. I mean that in good spirits.
  17. I'm now curious how tall you are? 😊
  18. B-G even?
  19. I'll be the first to ask: How's the B string? 😊
  20. My take on this is some folks aren't interested in the best bass tone, they just chase the tone that featured on their favourite albums and expect to hear that regardless of tonal developments made since.
  21. I personally have no problem being honest about what tone I like or dislike. We just like different things so I can like a tone that you don't and we're both right for example. There's a reason I stay away from flatwound strings but others swear by them as another example.
  22. Ok but £5.5k really stood out. Surely it's a £1.5k bass at best.
  23. If you think he's expensive there's a used Fender American Professional Jazz Bass V currently on Reverb from a UK based seller. The seller is taking offers but the asking price is £5,500.00 with £250 delivery costs. I messaged him and he confirmed the £5.5k wasn't a typo.
