  1. Having tried the Warwick-built Sadowskys and liking them a lot I still agree with this statement.
  2. I believe the Chinese made Dingwalls are set up in Canada finally. But you have a valid point still especially when considered that's where the majority of expensive iphones are manufactured.
  3. I believe Roger himself said at the time if you don't need the fancy extras that come with the USA models just get a Japanese one. I was a bit disappointed when the Japanese partnership ceased.
  4. In my humble opinion a Korean Lakland will wipe the floor with a Chinese Sadowsky. I've managed to try both of each on separate occasions. No contest.
  5. IF you're comparing the CHINESE Metro Express to the Lakland then yes I would also personally prefer the Lakland.
  6. There was also a Sadowsky Metro Express made in Japan which is why I asked. Do you know he tried the Chinese one?
  7. Which iteration of Sadowsky Metroexpress did you try and what year was the Darryl Jones?
  8. These are two separate issues to my understanding. The plek process and truss rod adjustments aren't the same.
  9. I'm patiently waiting for one of these to turn up in a colour I Iike and at a price I also like. They are simply amazing creations.
  10. I personally would be pleased to ask a question on here and get this many responses 😊
  11. I recently was in The Bass Gallery and they had two used Fenders I wanted to try. One was a £1.6k American Elite Jazz V and the other was a £0.8k Player Plus Jass V. There was nothing I could do on the American one that I couldn't replicate on the Player Plus so guess where my money went? It also helped that the Player Plus was modified with an onboard Sadowsky preamp as it's the type of mod I have done previously and would do again. So for ME that was a bargain package. Oh and the icing on the cake for me was Fender used a 19mm spaced bridge for the Player Plus 5s.
  12. I picked up a mint used example recently in the sunburst finish that had been modded with a Sadowsky on-board preamp. I changed the pickguard to tort and it is getting a LOT of my attention lately. I'm liking the 19mm (fraction wider than Fender 5s generally) bridge string spacing on these ones. It's not light though.
  13. Maybe lock the thread so my brain can move on? 😂
  14. Takes me that to drive from my home in north London to Bass Direct. It's really not that far. I go there quite a bit 😊
  15. True. I had a Bongo.
  16. Actually what gig bag would fit that?
  17. It never will due to the lack of a neck pickup and the hot active electronics. They're like chalk and cheese.
  18. Call them or if you're able to bring it in person for Martin to see it. Great chaps but they don't always answer their emails.
  19. He's not on my radar,never has been 😂
  20. I continue to learn. I have NEVER witnessed a bassist using a capo before 😊
  21. Cool. I've heard of none of those artists you mentioned. This forum is always teaching me new things. When I do slap I thumb mainly fretted notes. Now I'm thinking about it I rarely play open strings (low B excepted). I used them more when I was a 4 string player I think. Playing 5s has really changed how I approach the instrument now.
