1. Antoria used to make quite good guitars back in the 70's, I remember.
 2.
http://www.fodera.com/pdf/2010_Fodera_Price_List.pdf Now i know Fodera are expensive but this is just obscene!! Scroll down to page two! They charge $499 for a hand made scratch plate made of plastic???? $750 for a wooden back panel cover??? $999 for a different radius on the fret board??? i wont even start on the $24,000 basses!! Crikey!!
Whoah... that's almost as bad as GUS Guitars!!
 3. I favour music that reaffirms a state of self-pity and sentimental inertia rather than something vulgar and uplifting. This tune works for me:
 4.
keep your eye out on ebay, also i may be getting a few to do up soon, if i do want me to drop you a pm when they're done?
Yes I certainly will. Please let me know. Is that what you do then; fix amps?
 5.
Try a Markbass tube. I just got the tube800 and am very pleased with the huge range of sounds from it, the tube in the pre amp is adjustable and can become very warm. TC electronics do a very good compressor peddle to add.
That looks like worth a look..
 6.
If you know some-one that owns either a Aguilar DB750 or DB751, check it out. DB750 noisey fan until you turn up the volume and the DB751 nice & quiet. Delivery of tone & headroom outstanding. Good luck
Thanks, but no thanks. Anything with fans = AVOID. And that one has two.
 7.
I was just going to post that. They're not the lightest but amazing tone & I swear by mine. I'm amazed his hasn't sold in 2 days, hell of a deal
Trouble is, I remember them sounding a bit dull - then fuzzy and hairy when you turned them up. Hmmm
 8.
There is a guy selling a fender baseman 135 on here. Should fit most of your requirements.
really? I'll have a look.
 9.
why not get a treble and bass again? They're great heads and you could invest in a nice compressor to go along with it that'll be useful for other things
I have thought of that but they're very hard to come by
 10. After trying out my old H/H amp with a TC Electronic 210 cab recently after some time away from it, I was surprised how much I know longer liked the sound - and the in-built compressor (I was particularly fond of) in the amp seemed to strangle the sound. Maybe I've improved my technique lately, who knows? It may have suited me then but I'm not sure if it suits me now. Anyway, I'm going to have a think and look for a new amp in the next few weeks. I had a lovely Selmer Treble & Bass 100 watt in the old days and I really liked the sound of it but sold it off when I got the H/H. Being all valve it had a pleasing soft and rich sound but enough high end if I wanted. It never distorted (I'm not fan of distortion of any kind on a bass). So, can you recommend me; 1. Something that has the characteristic richness of a valve amp (it could be a valve pre-amp and solid state or an all valve amp) 2. Optional compressor built in 3. 60 - 100 watt 4. Nothing with a noisy fan in the amp head! 5. Up to a grand - I'll pay in installments if necessary. I'm currently using a humble Roland Cube 30 at the moment which sounds very nice to my ears, but I need something that can compete with a drum kit. Thanks guys
 11. This guy makes interesting looking basses: http://www.vivianinstruments.com
 12. Fans in amps are one of my pet hates. And they get noisier and noisier the older they get
 13. This might be of interest:
 14. Still available.
 15.
never heard an Alembic - can anyone describe their sound a little?
16.
I wouln't really say that I'm wanting to exactly replicate the P sound, just that I don't slap and I want fat warm bottom rather than a twangy clinky top.
I wouldn't worry; if you want that sound you can get it from just about any old bass out there - even the dirt cheap ones.
 17.
This is right lush. If I were still in the market for a 4 string bass, it would definitely be Ibanez and I would upgrade the pickups and electronics to what this bass already has. I can't believe nobody has bought it yet. Bump for a fantastic bass!
Yes, I can't quite believe it's still here either! Thanks for the bump. Another Pic:
 18.
A few minutes ago that was true for me
Oooof! That's ghastly!
 19. I was surprised Stan "Didn't know what happened to him" His new album is mind-bogglingly virtuosic (although a bit too bluesy for my tastes)
 20. Yeah, I'll try and make it (I can stay at my folk's in Ipswich). Norwich is a step too far, however.
 21. Great to see Stan Clarke namedrop our Colin in his interview in Bass player magazine "very, very influencial". Absolutely.
 22.
That's an elegant looking bass. What's the balance like seated?
.....Oh, I see from above you haven't got it yet!
 23.
more new pics!!
That's an elegant looking bass. What's the balance like seated?
