2.
Stunning bass.I must own the other one!!! Cliff is one of the finest luthiers and the attention to detail is second to none.
I agree!
  3. For sale a very rare, unique bass (one of only two in the UK) from the esteemed american luthier, Chris Bordwell. This was made two years ago and it's the 'Ball Bass' model and should appeal to fans of the Carl Thompson design. The craftsmanship is exquisite with flawless precision and attention to detail. The bass is incredibly lightweight and balances beautifully. Scale length 32" String spacing: 19mm Nut: 34mm Weight: under 7lbs Top wood: Holly with a walnut veneer Body: swamp ash Neck is a 'set neck' maple and wenge Fingerboard is maple Bartolini pickups with a John East Circuit: treble, middle (set at 800hz) and volume. Pickup selection via the switch. The bass has never been gigged and is in spotless condition. Price is [s]£1950 £1900[/s] [s]£1850 £1800[/s] [s]£1750 [/s]£1700 Check the video with clips from myself and two other players: http://www.youtu.be/ZD9L6irOwBY

    SOLD

Cruizer by Crafter: £49 only! Active bass (bass, treble and pickup blend). The pickups are noiseless humbucking types. Very playable 34" with a nice low action and rosewood neck. The frets are perfect with smooth ends. The body has been 'remodelled' ie, slimmed down a lot from the original and it is now very lightweight. The paint job was less successful, however, and the surface has discoloured as you can see in the photos giving it a bit of a rock n roll appearance. IMO, it's absolutely perfect for a beginner - easy to play, sounds good and you don't have to worry about damaging it. I won't be taking offers, it is what it is - a measly £49. I'm based in Greenwich, south London. Come and get it.
  8. I put my Wal in a hiscox case with extra bubble wrap and paid 15 euro to put it in the hold on Ryanair. It arrived on the outsized baggage carousel with no problems.
  9.
I did a session once, the engineer looked at my bass and was amazed that I had EMGs in it. He said "I thought they were meant to be all zingy, bright and clinical. They were not. They sounded really good". A lot of internet hearsay tells us that EMGs have no soul. This is not true.
I also agree.

  13.
Excellent in every way. Great playing and technique. The ghostliest of ghost notes.
thanks

  15. I rotate between a fretless 34" and a fretted 31" at gigs and I must say it irritates the hell out of me as everything's in a different place. I must find a solution!
  16.
Do you think you're maybe a frustrated guitarist ?
Well the bass guitar is a guitar, so we're all guitarists here! I have no frustrations though. I have no problem playing high up in a guitar range, if that's what you mean. I like a combination of high and low notes. Hahaha!
  17.
Listen to some Anthony Jackson from this album - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a4v4Zu-msnQ Tell me that you honestly can't hear the notes that he play clearly. I did a lot of transcribing of his playing from this album last year, he loves the low Cs, C#s etc, they can clearly be heard.
Yes I can hear them especially when isolated. But in combination with the other instruments their effect is negligible and they tend to disappear. That was evident at the Hiromi gig last year.
