  1. Am I the only person concerned that Scott Devine is going all out trying to get me to sign up for an online FAP?
  2. He's not a dog! Everyone knows he's a monkey! ... the colour of a forget-me-knot ... and pronounced as the ladies' name from it ...
  3. I sent a query to Fender and they said it's the same colour as the P's and teles, and blame the lighting. You'd think that a global brand would take care with something like that. Problem is, I want one now... These do NOT look the same colour:
  4. I'd have serious GAS for one of these in Daphne Blue. Except... the colour looks decidedly green to me. https://shop.fender.com/en-GB/electric-basses/jazz-bass/vintera-60s-jazz-bass/0149633304.html Pictures of Daphne Blue P-basses online look the right colour to me.
  5. I use index, middle, ring for fast triplets, so does Billy Sheehan so no shame there!
  6. Well it is, but you made it yourself 🙂
  7. I was queuing in Wickes the other day and they played The Smiths. I wish I'd had a Ramones jigsaw with me...
  8. Love the idea of using quality ply as a feature! But is is heavy?
  9. Take resistance measurements with the multimeter. And make sure the leads aren't plugged into the 'amps' sockets... 🙂
  10. I love the green ones. They play nicely if well set up. Good job they don't do one in Daphne Blue...
  11. My long-suffering and amended Kay K-2T bought around the time Running Free was in the charts 🙂
  12. I got it, at one place, on one string on my fretless. I scraped the varnish (maple fingerboard) with the edge of a scalpel two ro three times, about 1/2" down from where I was fingering the note and the effect disappeared. It was a tiny high spot.
  13. It may have a series resistor in it for some unspecified reason, 100 ohms would stop a multimeter showing continuity but barely reduce the signal. Or it could just be a dodgy joint...
  14. That's why the Ramones played them 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
  15. Just heard a version of Forever Man that wasn't insipid on Planet Rock, in fact it was brilliant. Turned out to be alive version with Steve Winwood. LOL! Bernard has just said exactly that, how much better it is than the original!
  16. I'm making mischief - I think 80's MIJ Fenders are better than the CBS ones 🙂
  17. It's dated November 18, so I wrote it October 18. The difference between Mitutoyo and the cheap M&W is like between an 80s MIJ Fender and a CBS one 😉 The Machine DRO one is a Harley Benton or Squier 🙂
  18. If its not active, why has it got four knobs and a battery compartment on the back like an active Jazz Deluxe?
  19. I've got a Mitutoyo and a Moore and Wright. I've also got Aldi and have and have had various other cheap ones. The Mitutoyo is a joy to use, beautifully finished and the batteries last longer and it remembers its setting when turned off for months. As for accuracy, as long as you have one that reads to the precision you require and you remember to zero it before use (cheap ones drift with temperature) they all work well enough for woodwork! <Edit> I wrote a review - I've found it online: https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/sites/7/documents/digital_caliper_review.pdf
  20. " I have only ever seen one other ‘active’ Jaguar (VM) for sale, it was a few months ago from Japan for £650 plus of course import tax. " What about this one currently at £64... "dodgy electrics": https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Squier-Jaguar-Bass-Wiring-Issues/254621131780?hash=item3b489a2404:g:j~sAAOSwmIJe37Q6
