Just heard from Dolphin music who sold me the amp, Marshall have sent me a brand new one, which is a bit of a result cause the one I bought was an ex demo.
was in the studio on Sunday and the engineer says "you do realise only one of your speakers is working" so I've took the front off and sure enough one of the speaker spade connectors has fell in half. Do I repair it myself and risk the warrantee or go to all the hassle of sendiing it back to Marshall? These are marvelous amps for the money but make sure you have a back up for gigs
 3.
Back up for sale again my left Handed 4 string 3 Eq Musicman Stingray. It is in good condition slight scratching/scuffing where I rest my hand while playing (I play with a pick) though you have to hold it up to the light to see them so they don't show in the photo, and one ding as in the photo. I've now got my MIA P Bass which suits my proposed Clash tribute band better, so it's got to go though I'm not desperate it's just not getting played much anymore. I've reduced the price to £730 which I think is a fair price so no offers please and no p/ex. I live between Nottingham and Derby if anybody wants to take a look, post and packing £20
SOLD

 5.
Hi, I've got a P Bass 'Bitza' - listed on my post somewhere on Basschat!! It's a Warmoth P neck - rosewood board on maple - Japanese P body in Sunburst (possible ash, probably poplar or basswood), mint pickguard, heavy duty bridge (Gotoh 201 copy), Kent Armstrong Vintage pickups, CTS pots. Strung with Fender 9050 flatties. Overall its as good as, if not better than, a Mexican Fender - except there aren't any Mexican leftie Ps, only Js. Can send pics if interested. Would be happy to do a trade - with cash adjustment on my part. (always like the idea of a maple/maple Ray to go with my rosewood/maple Ray and the Bitza is a backup). Let me know if you're interested, Bob (I'm also (probably) selling my Ric 4003 - but that would need a rather generous adjustment from you!)
Thanks for your inquiry but I think you misread the ad, I said no p/ex I have now got a P bass

 8. A lot of these might be easy for the bass palyer but what about the poor guitarists
 9. trouble is with drum machines you can't blame the drummer when you go out of time

 11.
Just had to send my MB 4210 back for repair under warrantee, loud pop when switching on, sometimes, and what sounds like a bad connection on the classic channel, sometimes. 14.
Hi guys, my Stingray's on eBay; Item 330364630105
Can I suggest you put the word Bass in the description, it doesn't come up when "Left handed bass" is entered in search, might get you a better price
 15.
I never understand why there seems to be a trend towards knocking slap bass playing (well I suspect I do understand, it's all those Mark King wannabe's that are all technique and no musicallity). At the end of the day it's what ever works for the music whether it be slap, finger style or tapping (but please no plectrums ! )
and why not
 16. the bass sound on the first 3 stranglers was a fluke, JJ could only get it with his green P bass, once he'd broke it in half punching it during a gig he couldn't get that wonderful tone again, perhaps it was a flaw in the wood of the bass that enabled it to sound like that
 17. No bidding war, it had a starting price of £699 and was due to finish Sept 25th, but the seller obviousley got an offer of £750 and finished it early, I didn't even know you could do that
 18. There's just been a left handed MIA P bass on ebay, and it went for £750 + £35 postage, you can get a new one for £899, WTF is going on?
 19. Do the Dickies version, no flute solo and a lot more fun
 20.
Don't understand the "bit embarassed" part. Why ? I've used a Stingray for years and who the hell in the audience knows what it is ? It sometimes get a bit of attention from the odd "bassplayer" in the audience cos' it's an old one, but thats it. Compared to some of the exotica owned on here it's not even that expensive.
You're right about the audience not knowing what it is, but occasionally we play a punk gig with other bands and usually they've got crap equipment and I think they maybe they think I'm showing off, bit like when I had to drive my ex wives car which had personalised number plates, not my thing at all.
 21. most of the posts here seem to start "I'm in a covers band or I'm in an originals band", well I'm in both, started out as originals band but soon learnt you get more gigs and money if covers are played, so we do 2 covers and then one of ours, keeps the crowd happy and introduces them to our stuff as well, oh and we only do covers we all agree on, mostly old punky stuff like the Clash, Ramones that sort of thing, seems to work
 22. I use a stingray not because I can show off that I've got a £1000 bass, bit embarrased about it to be honest, not because I can play better with it, not even because I think it's got the best tone, but because the band as whole sound better when I use it
 23. I've got a MIJ Hondo professional which I got for £40, and I really like the tone, better than my stingray, but, when gigging I use the stingray because it's got a tighter sound and it cuts through the mix so much better, the Hondo is just that little bit more flabby and tends to get lost in gig situations.
 24. I can never decide whether a bass is any good till I play it with my band, a bass can sound awsome when played on it's own and then gets buried in the mix when played with a band, and to complicate things even more I'm a lefty, so I finish up buying second hand off ebay then reselling at hopefully the same price when I decide it's not for me.
 25. I recently bought a 4210 combo when my Carlsbro Bass Beasty developed a fault, and I have to say it sounds awsome on the modern channel with the Beasty used as a 15 inch extension cab, got some real clean grunt behind it, didn't get that hot at a recent hour long gig
