  1. Bootleg Beatles are the best I've seen
  2. 2 hours ago, kevham said: Sorry John I don't know - it came with the bass. It's not the best fit though. I've previously had pickguards made using the original as a template by Jack's Instruments in Manchester. Did a really good job. Not sure if he still does it though. Yeah they are still going.
  3. You cannot beat the look of a black/black/maple P.
  4. Pity you can't roll off the treble - that's a deal breaker for me. The board does look a little anaemic, reminds me of the Laurel one on the CV P I used to have. It's a shame, as it looks great otherwise... Trying to look for reasons not to buy another P and struggling at the moment! 😄
  5. This is exactly why I keep away from the right handed sale section! Serious envy! What a beauty! GLWTS
  6. You might be better off moving it out of the left hand section into "general population"... We don't get much traffic round these parts 😉
  7. I would definitely pick one up!!
  8. I think visually it has the bound neck and colour-matched headstock common of the period. Not sure about pickup placement, fingerboard radius etc - but those are the things that standout. If I was being nitpicky I'd have liked a limited Vintera range offered in lefty configuration but we've got some cool options now compared to days gone by!
  9. It's as good as I can ever remember too. In the early days of my starting on the bass (early 00s), if you wanted something that wasn't sunburst, black, or rarer than hen's teeth, you'd have to do the Fender Japan route.
  10. More than possible! I purchased it in Music Ground in Manchester in 2007 and moved it on to a chap in Yorkshire around 18 months later. I think it might have appeared on Arni's site since then, but not 100% it is the same instrument.
  11. The discontinued CIJ 70s P reissue (PB70-US) is definitely a 40mm nut.
  12. I'm kicking myself now. Should really have bought it for that price
  13. Mustang copy on leftybass listed and sold in the same day 😵 The fact this has happened should be pointed out to Fender as I reckon even a limited FSR would completely sell out if they were to do it
  14. Think the guy from Air (his name escapes me) played a Hofner on a few tracks on Moon Safari. On Talisman and La Femme D'Argent you can definitely hear it. People think the Hofner is very one-dimensional but I love my Ignition (w/flats) and I'd never get rid of it.
  15. Cheers Dan - Glad you're enjoying it.
  16. My old workhorse up for sale on FB from the guy who bought it from me. Loved that bass. Must.... resist 😆 https://www.facebook.com/groups/128368870695910/permalink/1992443020955143/?sale_post_id=1992443020955143
  17. That's exactly what mine was like - I was so used to the Jazz neck at the time! It felt very flat compared to the Jazz, but wider with no taper which took some getting used to.
  18. I saw that, YOB bass for me as well 😄 There was a guy who used to sell lefty Ricks, he had quite a few and some rare ones as well. I was nearly tempted by a Burgundyglo 4003 about 15 years back, but I plumped for a 4004L which I really liked but moved it on for a CIJ P a few years later.
  19. 😂 I feel like I could do with just one more, strung with La Bella flats. I could pick up a Player P and get a guard cut and it'd do me. Although I don't think I could get away with it.
  20. That P looks really nice! A bit out of my price range unfortunately. Normally not a huge fan of the gold guard but it works on that bass
  21. Custom shop stack-knob Jazz on the bay for £2700 😲
