Just few words. Technically this cannot be called an American Standard Precision bass. American Standard Precision basses, firstly appeared in 1995 (in 1985 the first American Standard Jazz Bass). They all had (and still have) the strings passing through the body, and they were all produced in the Corona plant. This is what we usually call a "Precision E3 series" and was the last Precision bass serie to be made in the old Fullerton plant. Beautiful instrument: their value is increasing

Really! I do not like those tiny heads that look like a car radio. They're not even so cool over those big cabs, with four speakers. They seem like those Cartoon robots that we watched on television in the 80's, with a big body and a small head hahaha

Uhm, those basses are discontinued now. They disappeared from Fender web-site and butterscotch color version is already rare in the most part of european stores. Hurry up, someone buy it before they start to heading up with the price. And trust me, in a couple of months will be a bloodbath to buy one. Take this as a bump, 'cause I just have one of it.

Fender has never used a brass nut on his bass guitars (not in those years anyway and not on common P basses). So it's certainly been added later. This suggests to me even a refret job done on the fretboard, otherwise it wouldn't make sense only to change the nut. In fact, looking at the picture, the layer of rosewood is very thin, so the keyboard could have been leveled somewhere in time (common fact during a refret job). Even more so if you say that the frets are still like new. I sold an identical P Bass (same year, same colour, same features, same amount of money) just a couple of months ago. She also had a non original brass nut, and a really thin layer of rosewood (that I think was leveled several times). My 2 cents. Anyway, it's an amazing instrument, in a very good state at a fair price. Good luck with the sale.
