  1. Ooh, good job you backed off the "old" ya young bugger, (brandish of stick !)
  2. I've been looking tonight, tried to gee things up a bit, soo quiet ..
  3. My back seats are never up, two Orange OBC 115's, Ashdown head amp, guitars, cable box, bags of firewood, tub of Adblue, like a bring-and-buy sale in there . There's a space-saver wheel somewhere . The new girlfriend of Richard Osman could hide behind just one of those cabs she's so small !
  4. Why is it so unloved over on Guitar chat ?
  5. So, how's that work with River Song as the doctors wife now ?, sorry, back to the plot, I've only bought patch cables so far, but something is lurking from last year, too soon to tell ...
  6. Yes, the transparent job grabs your attention, it was the 3/4 acoustic that I took a shine to, I have never owned or played a proper acoustic bass, and all the good second hand ones are full size / 34" scale, bit of a whim I guess. Don't tell 'em on the gear abstinence thread tho.
  7. So, spotted some Haze basses for sale on flea-bay, any knowledge or opinions please.
  8. Ooh !, 1275 or 1301 cc ?, excellent Minilites, got an LSD in there ?, maybe a bag-tank for the fuel ?, go on, give us some specs for when its sorted please
  9. So, into the fray, I'm a die hard shrt-scaler, these are my two for gigging, the Landing is a custom built by Jimmy Wilson, there's one on flea-bay as we speak, the Gretsch has a massive E string, and it's still a bit limp (boys !), Notice how much bigger the Gretsch is , I've laid them down to get the bridges and nuts aligned, they are quite different to play ! I also have two 32 inch scale basses, can I point out that they are as easy to play because the headstock isn't two inches further away, the bridges are two inches nearer the end of the guitar body, backwards as it were, and yes, I have arthritis too but have never coped with 34 inch scale .
  10. I haven't practised today yet, had a lie-in and a shag, just sayin', hope this helps too ..
  11. Hi Fleabag, where you been fella ?, so late in this thread, was expecting you by the bottom of page 1 ....
  12. Hah ! good one, my dad played sax in a dance band, there was an awful lot of Glenn Miller in our house, and " Autumn Leaves ", whoever recorded that originally, I like playing that one though in a more jazzy style to my dad's rendition.
  13. If you get stuck, give Matamp a ring in Meltham, nr. Huddersfield, if he won't do it, he'll know someone who can.
  14. Mmm, Jim Hendrix used his teeth to play sometimes, never tried the genital thing yet, could be an interesting gig
  15. I've done the include my mob number thing sometimes, hoping to trade outside flea-bay, either buying or selling, amazing how many folk don't grasp it, and then when you push it through messages, you get the restriction thing as mentioned earlier. Usually private sales, not shops/dealers who if you Google them for a phone number will drop the price when you talk as its not through flea-bay anymore with fees.
  16. I bought a mini-mixer off eBay just before Xmas but told them not to post til 2019, and a couple of fender leads, ahem. Now what's this about tiers ?, gonna be more like TEARS in a few months if you ask me, ha-ha.
  17. Ah, ok, thanks, I thought if I went through it initially with the gain set on zero, all I would have to do is increase the mixer gain til it was at the level of "simply -just -plugged- in-without" and all would be well, is this a no-no through a valve amp then ?
  18. Actually, I bight a second hand one of these off flea-bay, forty pounds, allegedly used once but does have all the original packaging and looks mint, four channel but the line 1&2 have a push button for instruments , could use is for my Hammond xt-1 keyboard too maybe, which is why I wandered off the footswitch a bit. We'll see how much egg on face later ..
  19. Hello to you, good luck with your quest, I'm off to Google that of which you speak, (clueless as to that bass guitar )
  20. Hi fella, and welcome aboard, with all that kit you could join the 2019 gear abstinence thread ...
  21. .... as Prince Charles once said to Cammy-Parker-Bowles, W.T.F ?
