1.
If you can, id have a look at the ND series of cabinets, Neo speakers, i think higher power ratings? youll have to check that though!
Yup they are higher power ratings but they don't seem to make a 2x10 in the Neo series? Anyway the 4x10 is 800 watts @ 8ohm and the 1x15 is 400 watts @ 8ohm and sound mint with the horn attenuator turned all the way off!
2. I'm still chasing a Marshall Guv'nor original
3. I've had a google of the fore-mentioned combo and i cant find much on it but i'm pretty sure you need another 4ohm cab. Sounds like the amp can take a minimum load of 2ohm
4. Its no different to a 0% finance deal i took out with SC for my Warwick Cab, pay it off before 12 months and you don't pay any interest and i got to take it away the same day!
5. either that orrrrrrrr........... make yourself a little trolley out of MDF and attach some castors to that then you wont ruin the precious cab!

7. +1 for Peavey. Im sure you can get a Peavey Tour for about £300 Here you go! just out of your price range brand new but look for a used one or the next one down in the range you'll be laughing. 8. Ouch! many things going on here. umm first thing is playing live is soooo much different to playing at home at low volume or through headphones, much practice with the band is required i suspect. You will get used to it and also finding a sound you can hear through the rest of the band as again the settings you have at home don't always work in a bigger room could be many reasons ie: what the floor is made from, how high/low the ceiling is, are you elevated above the crowd etc It is hard to hear what you are playing if the cab is low down by your knees but getting tight with the other members especially the drummer will help to cure that, if you play anywhere that provide monitors get them to cut everything from yours apart from bass may help as it will be infront aiming toward your ears. Hope this helps a bit, im sure you'll be given many many other hints a tips from the more experienced boys on here.
9. I'd be quite interested if i can get hold of the box, another question though is it an original made in england model?
10. Ah cool thanks, yeh i know of a maplin near me. I'm going to take it to a tech on saturday anyway let him have a good look round it.
11.
+ 1 More for PMT. They have a beautiful Sandberg Jazz looky likey. Maple neck and fretboard, don't know what the body wood is. Around the £800 mark I think. Staff are great also.
It was most probably a Sandberg you were looking at! they are stockists. And yes they are nice guys
12. Cheers BOD, what kind of contact cleaner? can i use wd40?
13. Ok i've had my Warwick Pro Fet 4 a while now and ever since i got it the gain and volume knobs have made a scratchy sound when turning them up or down. Also sometimes the limiter kicks in when turning the gain knob up and i get a popping/cracking noise from the speakers. Is this just a case of spraying some contact liquid on the inside or should i take it to a amp tech for a service before i start gigging again?
14. I'd guess that most r&b producers get Randy Jackson or Nathan East in to play any bass parts on the records.
15. +1 for OldGit ! PEAVEY = METAL! Try and get hold of a used 4ohm 4x10 and one of those newish tour heads and your set buddy.
16. Probably pick up some used Hartke stuff for £300, keep em peeled you won't be disappointed!
17. Not necessarily! i had a Peavey TKO combo with DDT all it acts as is a limiter and cuts in to stop you from blowing the speaker, when the light flicks from green to red the amp is peaking is fine but if the light is constantly red when playing its probably working overtime. I never had any trouble with mine, i used it for an all dayer once with 6/7 bands going through it and coped ok.
18. might be mine i sold earlier this year!

20. +1 For any of them! Learn Kick out the jams (mc5) from the renegades covers album, love that song
21. Explained perfectly Mr Pablo, I have also suffered with the problem of using my Warwick head with only one 8ohm cab and the performance does suffer an awful lot. You would be better off getting an extension cab to go with the 4x10 you already have be it another 4x10 or 1x15 the choice is yours, you would definitely notice the difference. Also with the sound stage being higher up you will hear your sound more clearly.
