  3. I got to spend a few hours there yesterday morning, and it was highly enjoyable. I hadn't been for a few years, last time I went I was disappointed so I wasn't inclined to return but my wife won me a few weekend ticket and gave me a green pass for the morning so I went down. I really liked the way they laid out the halls - the advertised quiet times didn't play out but the room divisions kept the noise levels down. Only had a problem with one dreadlocked white dude cranking a GR amp and slapping away drowning out everyone who was trying to be more considerate in the amp hall. But hey, just one rusty bullethole was a massive improvement on previous years I've been. Chris Child's show was excellent, if I can get back today I'd like to see his masterclass. Bobby Vega was on good form, though I'm not sure I learnt much from his master class. I also caught Steve Lawson before I left, a very interesting talk on the nature of improvisation. I actually wish there'd been a bit more in the way of commercial stalls, or at least more stock from the ones that were there. And as per previous comments some more British brands would have been nice, I was disappointed not to see some overwater basses.
  4. Hello Charlie and Team, interacting with an active community like Basschat is a great way to generate more loyal customers! It worked with me anyway, I've just placed my first order
  5. Federico Malaman does slap bass courses. They are in Italian but with English subtitles, the workbooks are also in English .. https://malamanbasslessons.com/product/mala-slap-vol-1/?lang=en
  6. Used, good condition £7 posted to UK mainland.
  7. I'll be next in line
  8. I watched the voice for the first time last night, agree completely with the comments about the band and Ben's playing. However, WTF was the deal with the operatic version of Smells Like Teen Spirit - that was truly awful!
  9. I'd better get my order in then!
  10. Yes, I'd thought about doing this. What would you do, put a 4 ohm load simulator on the speaker out and take the FX send into the FX return of the MB500? I see ashdown are at the Guitar show this weekend - I wonder if they'll have one there.
  11. Dave Grohl played bass on a number of the tracks on Greatest Hits Vol. 1 for the Teenage Time Killers Nate Mendel did his own solo album he sang on under the name Lieutenant
  12. Preferred tone is definately more Entwhistle, we're your typical local rock covers band playing a few pubs, friends BBQs, the odd fun raiser etc. My MB500 and 4x10 is overkill so I'm looking to downsize into a more compact rig. Was thinking this head into a Barefaced two 10 cabinet. Sounds like that might work OK for what were doing. I guess if we play bigger I'll use the mb500 or DI into FOH if an option.
  13. Interested to hear opinions on how gigable this head would be. I asked @ashdown what the 30 watts all tube power would compare to in a SS head; they reckoned the equivalent would be around 150 transistor. From previous posts in this thread I see that some have gigged the older CTM 15 and 30's - what size venues were these? Would the 30watts cope with a Pub gig, small hall, church type venues?

  15. Price drop to £575 to sell. Last week before it goes on evil bay.
  16. Thank you Tech21 - are you guys planning on releasing a matching 8ohm extension? Any indication on when these combo's will be available in the UK?
  17. I recently bought a small combo amp from Chris. The experience was very positive! The amp it's self was in really good condition, communication throughout the process was excellent and I was both impressed and grateful for how much care Chris had put into the packing the amp safely for transit. Really appreciate the effort you went to @chrisgriff, thanks again!
  18. Roman recently purchased a drive pedal from me. He was a pleasure to interact with, hassle free payment and great communication. Thanks very much @roman_sub, hope you enjoy the pedal!
  19. Me too, in fact I wonder if it is my band... Perhaps they are trying to replace me, it did take me a week to respond to the last rehearsal email :/. I get this Ad completely, it's a band for guys like me: those who have full time jobs, young kids and commitments that prevent them joining a working band. I agree that those gigs are probably a mix of local fund raisers, private events for friends and family and maybe some unpaid gigs at a local pub. Nothing that's going to generate actual income. I don't have a problem with the caveats they've listed - seem like reasonable asks to me, even for a casual band.
  20. Not seen one, but the specs list an extension speaker out so I'd imagine it's on their roadmap.
  21. Hi, this Corvette is passive. The controls are Volume, Pickup Blend and Tone Cheers
  22. The Tech21 website is not clear on the output. I.e. is it a 200 watt 1x12 combo, or is actually 140 watt @ 8 ohms, with 200 watts only being available with an additional 12" extension cabinet. I hope it's the former with the option of an active extension cabinet - reckon that would be a nice gigable rig.
  23. Any idea on release date and price?
