1.
Not my old bass, never had a Celinder 5er in natural, I've probably had about 10 Celinders in my day, but not this one, might consider buying it though if it were a little cheaper.
Hi there. I'm sure nothing is meant towards my ad in this comment, but I just want to make absolutely clear that this bass is bottom end of the right money. No offense taken at all, I just wanted to make that absolutely clear for my own reputations sake! Nice to see some Celinder history going on. And 10 Celinders sounds like bass heaven! Wow.
2. PM's replied to.
3. Hi Gwilym, Cool, thanks, hope you're well? Yes it is a sale only I'm afraid. I might consider trading down + cash if it's something I can sell on quite easily. But it's a bit early for all that! I know it's a good price considering how increasingly hard these are to get hold of and how good it is so hoping someone will snap it up.. Thanks mate, good luck with the other sales you have. Take it easy, Jo
4.
Is that Ari's old Celinder J? Looks amazing, I've have it in a heartbeat and probably sell my other two if I had the disposable. Good luck with the sale!
Hi mate, I believe it is yes. Shame its bad timing, but thanks for the comment. If anything changes let me know!
5. THIS BASS IS NOW SOLD. THANKS FOR ALL THE INTEREST AND PM'S. SORRY IF YOU MISSED OUT! Hi folks, A bass that needs no introduction, my Celinder is going up for sale, I'll be sad to see it go, an awesome instrument that has been a dependable bass and a joy to play. Spec: - Danish Ash Body - Maple Neck - Maple fingerboard, MOP blocks and binding. Lacquered finish. - Celinder humcancelling pickups, in 70's postition - Celinder pre-amp CP3, with dip switches, and master gain control (great for use with effects). 9v battery compartment on rear. - Vol/Vol/Bass/Treble - Lightweight hipshot style tuners (unbranded but sure they are hipshots) - Celinder bridge - Scale length 35" - Weight: 10 1/2 lbs (near as I can see on scales) - Constructed 2004 Tonally this bass really nails the 70's Ash/Maple jazz bass sound with the extra juice of the amazing preamp. Chris C really knows his stuff when it comes to generating tone, this bass is a monster. Top to bottom this bass resonates and maintains a full, fat tone and really feels 'complete' as a 5 string bass. This bass has all the features that these bass are sought after for, I spent a long time finding it! Condition: All the electronics are tip top. I've worked with this bass and so have looked after it. The set up is currently nice and low, the neck is great for this. Frets are in good condition, played but with loads of life left. Generally it's in great condition and has been cherished. I understand from Chris Celinder that the body has been left without the string-through drilling as requested by the original owner. Something that you could get done, but the bass really doesn't require it. Case and truss rod allen key included in the sale. Blemishes: One ding in the rear centre of the body (done by previous owner). Just into the lacquer and no trouble. Doesn't even show up in pic. Tiny dent in rear of neck (see pic) Mark on very top of headstock (see pic). Lacquer got chipped in transit and I've had The Gallery workshop do a fantastic job touching it up. Case: Celinder branded case has taken a few knocks. It's totally serviceable but you would probably want to replace it, so I have taken this into account in the price. Other than that, standard bit of pick guard swirling and some un-photographable marks on some edges. You can see from the pics it's in great condition. Price: £2,200 GBP. You are more than welcome to come and try out the bass. Collection is very preferable but I do travel around for gigs etc so I could meet up potentially. Very reluctant to ship overseas but always worth a PM if you are really interested! Bass is in Bucks, UK. Please give it a good home and play it a lot!! Please PM me or call 07719154668 Thanks for looking, Jo
6. Yeh this is interesting to me. 'Jazz bass' is a term that seems so often these days to refer to the looks of the thing when you sit down and play one and hear it. Really they seem to basses born from the concept of being purposeful, round sounding and simple in their application. I mean, really a jazz bass to me is a passive instrument with 2 single coil pickups and some sort of tone facility. That's it. I love my Fender jazz and to me if you find a good Fender jazz you get on with you really can't beat it. Lakland, and even luthiers such as fbass offer great passive, sc jazz configuration basses that sound great too. Obviously some aesthetic differences. And it's my belief that different body, neck joint and neck dimensions contribute to the variety of sound these basses offer. Most people will wind a Sc pup within the window of what was conceived by Fender in terms of windings and size. The others such as Sadowsky, Lull, Xotic, Nordy, Celinder offer a more modern, 'zingy' approach to the jazz concept. But it's definately important to use the term 'Super Jazz' with these instruments - and SUPER doesn't always mean BETTER, but it differentiates between the two. The words 'JAzz bass' personally excite me more than 'Super Jazz' ! But sales people love to coin the Jazz term when quite often the bass sounds nothing like one! How queer!?!
7. Lovely looking Fbass, and a great price. Good luck with the sale - someone's gunna get lucky!
8. Give Kent Armstrong pups a call - they are well priced and will sort you out with any custom options.
9. Hi there, Loose skunk stripes are quite common particularly on older fenders. It's not really cause for concern but I would defo take it to a luthier to get it sorted and check there's nothing else going on. If you get it sorted you want it to be a permanent thing so I'd highly recommend going that route. Hope that helps
10. Yep my old UL 310 has been everywhere with me for nearly five years now! I often play other cabs and for the weight, always end up thinking 'naah' !! These cabs are great sounding, clear and deep, and portable too. Very happy with mine. Btw, if any of you guys need to shift one of your S1 410's at any point then I'd be really interested. These rigs all look amazing! I'll stick up a pic of mine when I get a sec.
11. Yes support these guys, they are sick players and the bass player runs it so it's for a good cause ; ) ! Great to see them getting recognition
12. Hi mate, Is that a Nordstrand Pre-amp? Single coils? And do you know the weight? Thanks a lot
13. Keeping it in the mix ...
14. The product is great. I have a Silverstone all-round zip up cover for my cab and it's fantastic. really good fit, hard wearing, and padded really well (this is where others fall short). But yes they are hard to chase up. Mine turned up and was made quite quickly, but I gave up trying to get a receipt. if you can get hold of them and get one it'll be the best product IMO. I'd recommend phoning them and having a talk, if you make contact I'm sure they'll get on with it. If not, maybe look elsewhere.

This looks stunning! You've been keeping those boys busy! Love the modern woods and touches with the block in lays, really classic touch. Tasty. I bet you're well excited. Great stuff.
16. Aah! Yes it's been turning up on google searches so hope you don't mind me using it. Amazing bass, always a joy to play and hear. Nice one ari, Flanker has mentioned you in the past so hope all is well with you. Fgz
17. Great steve. You're an inspiration to us all. Speak soon. Jo
18. It's been drooled over for many years!
19. Still hopeful !
20. I'd say buy the one you like best!! (Fender!)
21. I've put this up once before. I'm in no rush or real need to part with this fantastic bass. But I'd be very interested in trading for the same bass but in the Vintage guise. (Rosewood board/Alder body, J/J pups, 5 string). I do not want to sell it, and I would only consider the Celinder trade as I really love these instruments - and I searched hard to get my hands on it! I think it's unlikely I'll be able to do this, but I thought it worth putting it out there - you never know. Any details available via PM. Pic of the bass attached. Great condition, unfortunately increasingly rare. Cheers, Fingerz
22. I can't tell you what to do. But I can recommend the Gallery for the work. If you decide to go there I'm sure you'll be happy with the work they do, and they'll take on board what you need and discuss it with you. I can't vouch for Wal or anyone else in the area unfortunately. Hope you get on ok.. Fz
