  1. I only use flats and I found the chromes quite high tension compared with the labella’s I normally play, also very bright sounding, good if your looking for that sound but they wasn’t for me
  2. Welcome William
  3. There’s some great tunes on them, good choice
  4. It would be a nice match, good luck rob
  5. Will has got a nice 73 jazz in at the moment, I’m holding out for a maple and black block one but it’s quite tempting , few dings in the neck though https://bassbros.co.uk/product/1973-fender-jazz-bass-4/
  6. He might subject you to lots of Jazz noodling videos if you did 😬😁
  7. He does sometimes 🙂
  8. I’d rather listen to Little Mix greatest hits than jazz noodling 😁
  9. It definitely works in some situations, I’ve been a joiner for 35 years and it’s used regularly in the joinery shop Not something I would do it would probably tear the neck pocket wood
  10. That’s a really good one to play , I used MarloweDK’s video when I was learning it , he breaks it down well
  11. Not sure if you’ve had a look but there’s some serious funk in the ,Soul funk and groove thread, might take you a while there’s about 49 pages, but probably worth skimming it and save the ones you like
  12. Good Bassline on this
  13. Good thread rob, I enjoy playing a bit of funk, anything by Chic, kool and the gang, earth wind and fire, James Brown, I think people will know, there might be a few suggestions here from a few years back that are of some use to you
  14. Yeah they really sound similar don’t they, more than the other brothers I think , stephen has got some great songs and watching many videos he performs great live, Chris Meredith was his bass player who unfortunately died last year , Chris played with all the top reggae artists and others over the years including Gregory isaacs and Dennis Brown etc
  15. Having a Gregory isaacs day today revisiting lots of tracks I haven’t listened to in a while and saving the ones to play along to , my list is growing 😁
  16. Yeah he does seem a nice guy although I don’t watch many of his videos and he’s also a member here, I’ve seen some of Ian’s videos and he’s a fantastic player
  17. Nice, and the best colour scheme too imo
  18. Yeah I saw that, it looks really nice, he had a 68 a while back just under that price and it sold fairly quickly , I can’t see it being there long
  19. Continuing my journey through Stephen Marley tracks I’m liking this, I’ve been listening to Damien since he started and he sounds great here at 2.40
  20. How did you get on, what did you think of it
  21. She did an album with sly and Robbie which is worth a listen if you haven’t heard it , very good
  22. Ah yeah I just reread that hooky , sorry @dyerseve my measurement earlier is at the 12th not the last fret , apologies for not reading properly
  23. At the 12th fret
  24. Hi dyerserve, I normally set my neck as straight as I can with the very slightest relief and then lower my saddles to my height, which is as low as I can go without any buzz, I play with a soft touch which I think helps
