  5. I managed to remove a damaged truss rod nut once by filing down the next size up Allen key to a slight taper, and it wedged itself in
  6. The blues scale was the first thing I learned when I started playing at 14 , my bass tutor was a blues player , it’s a great genre, so much feel , a good video I have saved is this one by Scott Whitley

  15. Welcome 2020 👍
  16. OMG, that’s cool, I didn’t know barefaced did a 1x18, I know the dubster has 2x18 but they don’t come up very often, reminds me of my reggae sound system days 😁
  17. I’m quite happy with mine , but I totally get what you’re saying about changing it on the quick if you’re playing live , unless you know exactly where the setting is that you need, the VBT would be quicker
  18. I keep coming back for another look 🙂
  19. Yeah I found that, backing either pickups off just a touch alters the sound considerably , then I use the tone knob to dial in what I want further
  20. When I first got my 1998 P bass special, which I bought because I couldn’t resist the candy apple red finish, I didn’t actually like the tone, I’d been playing precisions and jazzes before and this didn’t sound like either with the pickups solo at firs t, but after a fair bit of tweaking you can get very close to a P or a Jazz sound if you want it, I think they just take a bit of time to get used to, it’s by far one of my favourite basses, lots have come and gone but this is going nowhere 🙂
  21. Welcome Andy 👍, what bass is it
  22. That’s very true, I too have never heard anyone say a bad word about BC
  23. Welcome JW 👍
  24. If you fancy a bit of easy listening and nothing too heavy, the album from Kubix is good , track 3 Sunday children is a nice bouncy one ☝️
