1. Hi Howie I've made a bunch of patches for the electric but none for the upright. I really just want to boost the signal without feedback, basically do what a Platinum Pro does. I've always had a dedicated box on the upright but would like too go thru the B3 for convenience.
2.
Mine works well with my NS CR-5M electric upright, but I no longer own a 'proper' DB
What settings do you use? I just want a pretty uncoloured sound but without the feedback and scary rumbling!
3. Hi Folks I've started using my upright a bit at rehearsals. Currently I use a zoom b3 with various patches and switch between fretless and fretted bass. I'm using a line 6 relay and just plug the transmitter into whatever instrument I'm using. I tried plugging in my upright and it was just terrible, feeding back the whole shebang, awful. Granted I didn't spend any time trying to get a sound, I just ditched the B3 and went thru my little FDeck - HPF pre and all was fine, just a bit of hassle plugging and unplugging cables. Has anyone had any luck with the B3 or am I just wasting my time? I noticed a preset called the AC BS Pre (snappy!) which is meant to be a fishman clone with a high pass filter. The zoom is great with the electric but is the upright a step too far?
4. Hey Sam I was actually looking for a bass to take to Rosfest in the states. I'll probably use my usual Rickie for Cottiers. Shame your away at the gig, however, you'll be in Thailand on your honeymoon which isn't too Shabby!
5. A fretless! Don't give my gas anymore inspiration!
6. Cheers Lozz, I'm knocked out by the quality of the bass and surprisingly lightweight.
7. Been looking for one of these for a while and picked one up on gumtree a month or so ago. Just thought I'd post a pic. Great bass, really pleased with it!
8. Just bought one so we call see
9. Hmm food for thought!
10. Cheers I quite fancy one to be honest.
11. Thinking of getting a J Retro for a mex jazz fretless I bought. Is it worth it or am I just upgrading for the sake of it! Opinions gratefully received !
12. Old thread I know but I got it in a trade
13. PM'd I'll take this if it's still available!
14. Hi Matt I got it on here and in all honesty some of the bridge saddles have been rather enthusiastically chopped particularly the B. I can send you some pics and see what you think. I'd take £20 quid plus p&p.
15. Pandora mini for sale. Great wee thing but is sitting unused and has been for some time. Cash or trade for something to upgrade an mim jazz a bridge, pups etc.
16.
What is the string spacing on the hipshot ? Cheers
It's the .787 Here are the specs http://www.hipshotproducts.com/files/all/5stgastyle.pdf
17. Pic gone but if anyone is interested get back to me, looking to trade for a Yamaha!
18. Alright man cheers I'll see if anyone tells me I'll take the pic down. I'm quite happy to keep the bass to be honest as it's great. Just thought the amount of basses I have might be getting a bit silly!
19. I did a wee search and there appeared to be others for sale, is it not allowed? I'm not actually selling it I want to swap it.
20. This is for TRADE not for sale! So the price just reflects the cost of the bass and the upgrades. I am after an 80s Yamaha 4 string and would consider anything from that era. Might be interested in a good 4 string faker. Feel free to delete the ad if it breaks any rules! Hi I have an immaculate retrovibe RV5 5 string bass. Great bass monster tone lightweight and very cool. I am after an 80s Yamaha 4 string. I picked a 5 string BB5000 which necessitates moving on the retro. So what old Yammies do you have? Electrics have been completely upgraded. Stock pups have been replaced by Cats Whisker custom humbuckers. This is from Alan who made the pick ups "A thought is to possibly make you a pair of pickups with what I’d consider to be a “standard” winding and add an extra section of coil with a couple of taps on it. This would give you the options of the basic pickup tone plus two levels of “warmer” tone – three in all. You could pick the two that you prefer and use a toggle switch to select between them. Tuners are Wilknson's and the scratchplate was made by the bass doc, it also has a custom TRC which is excellent and the knobs are from a well know brand of bass. Other pics available on request.
21. I have a Badass V and a Hipshot bridge for trade. Looking for a replacement bridge for a 4 string MIM Jazz something that slots straight in Badass or Gotoh. 22. I went to see it. The bass was in cash converters it wasn't in bad nick but I just got a bit of a bad vibe so decided against it.
