I have had to wait but I have only had positive experiences with both brothers & Toby. I think maybe because they have been so overwhelmed with phone calls and emails & have probably been inundated with so many orders and then the after effects of that they have dealt with things the best way they can whilst still getting basses out the door. They probably have ways of dealing with customers to keep the peace whilst getting on with building the massive backlog... We all knew the situation when ordering a bass from them, they would have warned us, which they did & I was posting about it here. I have zero issues with the time I've waited and the customer service, it's all expected & in my case has been really good. Whenever I have contacted them and they gave me a response it's been really polite & helpful. I'm really looking forward to the basses arriving & in fact it's come at a great time when I have got past the honeymoon period with my first Jaydee!

Latest update on my 2 Jaydees (GA24 & S3 with saturn inlays): After maybe 5 years they are now being built! I am travelling down to Jaydee HQ soon as I want the neck profiles the same as my current S3. So that's really great news, I think I heard from Mike Brooksy also that they are working on clearing that backlog for the next year or 2...

Hi guys, Just recorded a video in 4k so you can really see the detail of the body with the glassy finish... yep still in good condition after all these years! -

I recently created a Youtube channel to post clips of my playing but also tutorial videos & a vlog update on general bass guitar news. I Will have mini documentaries on famous songs that feature the bass, which my first video is a deep analysis of Rush's Tom Sawyer which includes a break down of the bass parts & how to tackle the more challenging lines etc. Bass Espresso Thanks for looking & if you subscribe I will be over the moon!

Well, as i have no experience with building basses, I told Martin how I wanted the bass to sound and play & asked him to use his expertise in selecting the best woods for that purpose, rather than me choosing random woods because they look pretty. Same with the electronics, I did specify a John East preamp (which he agreed would work well with the woods) and then he's going to look into some soap bar pickups that sound best with the John East and match the tone i described.

I only know that it has a birdseye maple fingerboard, that was the only thing i specced. I also asked for a body that was slightly wider than the standard Flamboyant 4 string...

That's good of you to chip in to help promoting the projects you're in being a bassist unless you're fronting the band yourself. I'm normally seen and not heard if I'm a sideman! 😂 -

As i live in London, I prefer to walk in to venues, the old school way if I'm fronting a band. Otherwise, being a sideman I don't need to get involved in that department. -
Lovely bass! I was just hanging out with Mike Walsh (Zoot bass) recently. Amazing work this guy does, his attention to detail is second to none. I actually picked up a new Zoot bass from him, I'll post something on this soon... but good luck with the sale, I'm keeping my eye on this . Quick question, is the pickup position in the Stingray position or a Fender Jazz bass? BTW The flame on the back of this neck is fabulous!

How do these compare to the old Status replacement necks?

I joined facebook (about a year or 2 ago) and since have stopped posting here as facebook seems to have consolidated everything I use to do on the web in a single website! It's actually taken the fun out of posting and reading about bass guitars and bassists... It's just all superficial click bait & with little to know substance. I suddenly realised I was just scrolling through endless reels of 1 minute videos designed to grab my lizard brain attention. And the groups are just again, post a flashy pic of a fancy bass and lets all celebrate... zero discussion, good or bad 🙂↕️. So I have decided to quit facebook and just use bass forums and X. At least with X there's discussions but not so much about the bass guitar, so that's actually a good thing, it's an untapped market! Anyway, does anyone feel the same or am I just getting old. great to hear you thoughts 🙏
