  1. Just checked out the Status website, are they back to - business as usual? Can't see any notices that regular orders are on hold?
  2. Haha thank you, I feel the same way when i see other bassists... i just remember that i own these expensive instruments for my own reasons... when i was a full time musician many years ago my only bass was a second hand yamaha trb that cost £200 on ebay... now I am working in a 'proper' job i own a few expensive instruments that hardly get played.
  3. I really like the classic Zoot body shape but on the front page of Zoot's websites, their is a fretless with quite deeply shaped contours. I prefer the original less shaped version, does Mike still make that shape?
  4. Yes, thank you. It's really great to hear what other settings Jaydee owner's are using as i wasn't sure how much too boost the eq. My strings are 100-40, i know a lot of Jaydee players use 30-90..
  5. I love this bass! I have had my eye on Zoot for a long time.... maybe i should give Mike a call
  6. Another solo on the Jaydee, really does a great darker Jazz solo tone... I just put some new strings on, everything is turned up to 10 except the tone control is rolled right off and treble is at 40%
  7. Here's a demo of the bass in action
  8. Yep, i used to be a full time musician, played with a £200 bass, now i have retired from music and changed careers I own some very nice instruments...
  9. I bet you are a great bassist! Thanks for your settings. I have been trying to cut the mid and boost the bass and treble a bit but like you say, he always has that mid growl on hand when he switches to finger style - so that makes sense (otherwise if the mids were scooped for slap then when he switches finger style he won't get that middle growl). BTW do you currently own any Jaydees?
  10. yea i played a 4 string in Tin pan ally a few years ago, i still remember that lovely mid growl from the back pickup
  11. Jaydee bass owners: Can you let me know what your Mark King slap settings are? Especially how to set the EQ and tone - I wonder how much of the tone was coming from his Trace EQ which was scooped?
  12. That's gorgeous, anyone know where this bass is now?
  13. I'm in Tooting Mike but i'm prepared to travel within the London area
  14. I can confirm the magnets are towards the bridge side on both pickups.
  15. Amazing price for this top of the range model!
  16. Everything is always available ....for the right price EDIT - this was a joke!
  17. Hi! SOLD Original Yamaha TRB Mark 1 4 string bass in great condition, lovely example! Excellent weight and balance. Hardly used, check out the pick ups to see there is practically no where and tear. Might have a few small dings but difficult to see with the natural wood body type. Originally imported from USA, after duties and import tax was over £800 but selling for £700, i'll take the flack on that.
  18. Hi! I'm selling a Yamaha TRB 5 string Mk 1 version, plays great, has one small mark by the back pickup (see pic) but apart from that is mint. Excellent weight, not heavy at all, plays like a dream, super low action. Is the famous Mark 1 version, so made in Japan. Selling for £850 as that it was i paid for it on ebay in 2021 (see pic of the ebay receipt). London pick up preferred.
  19. Why oh why did you sell that beauty? - Disclaimer: i've sold some beauties in my time
  20. Someone needs to get a rough idea of how much he wants...
  21. Beautiful Bass! I wonder if John would make this model again today....
  22. Never really rated her myself but she's certainly on the London session / depping scene
