  1. Phil, that's just way too easy!! LOL
  2. Y'know @Brian45 when someone tries to help you it's common courtesy to respond to them!
  3. Back in the day we had VOX now we just have Vox.
  4. I have to admit that I'd love the opportunity of playing through one of Alex's cabinets. Distance makes that possibility difficult.
  5. Getting the pot replaced is the best option. Spraying copious amounts of contact cleaner into the pot is not a permanent fix and can damage the part even more.
  6. See what Phil sats about it. Not being in the presence of the unit my advice would just be educated guesses. One thought does the amp have a tube?
  7. @Brian45 Is the link I provided not the part you are looking for?
  8. Have you tried emailing Phil Jones? I've heard he is quite approachable. Is the amp new?
  9. Does this happen with nothing plugged into the amp's input?
  10. for practice I just plug into my 60,s Ampeg B15NF. It always leaves me with a big smile.
  11. If you stack those 2x10s on their ends for a vertical 4x10 you'd be better off.
  12. @Willow how are things going? Have you got your problem sorted out?
  13. If it were me I'd be looking for an Acme B2 2x10 three way cabinet. That especially goes for a 5 or 6 string bass.
  14. @Wonky2 With the greatest respect, if you will not follow the good advice you have been offered why did yuou ask in the first place?
  15. There are a lot of misconceptions around speaker sizes. Size alone doesn't make a lot of difference when it comes to sound. Take a look at Phil Jones offerings with their array of 5" drivers.
  16. Try linking the Send and Return with a signal cable and see if that helps.
  17. Get a second identical 1x12 and stack it vertically on top of the first. Problem solved.
  18. OK @jezzaboywhat was the original plan? Inquiring minds need to know!!
  19. Do they still use the stake far said burning? LOL
  20. Usually when you check polarity with a 9V (PP3?) battery when the battery positive connects to the drivers positive pole the cone will jump out away from the magnet. To mount the SpeakOn socket you'll have to drill a 15/16" diameter hole. These drills are readily available with a half inch shank to fit an electric drill.
  21. Don't bother with the combi socket just get a four pole NL4 socket and wire the speaker to +1 and (-)1 and be done. !/4" phone plugs and sockets are very problematic as speaker connectors.
  22. If you spend the money almost anything can be made to work. To me that's a lot of messing around when all someone wants to do is sound good on stage. My first Bassman was brand spanking new when I set it up on stage and leaned it back on its legs. It sounded so bad I nearly cried. I returned it to the store, Dawsons in Runcorn Cheshire, and although they had sold my trade in I left it there anyway. Edit: P.S. Where is the Hog County?
  23. From one Paul to another: don't bother! You'll be wasting your money.
  24. A 50W Fender amp couldn't cut tin the Sixties let alone cope with todays' volume levels. As Bill says it's OK at low volume but stage volume forget about it.
  25. If the 4x12 is anything like it's 2x12 relation then it's worth about five quid for firewood and scrap metal!
