  1. I'm glad you got the amp sorted!
  2. Thank you for my Christmas Present!! Please keep us informed of results.
  3. You have to consider what the impedance match requires. The amp is no doubt looking for a 4Ω load, check the back panel. What is the Barefaced cabinet's impedance. If it's 8Ω the amp will not be safe running at volume into the single cab.
  4. The suggestion of taking the thing to a tech is a valid one. His/her bill will be far less than what your life is worth.
  5. It could be almost anything but careful diagnosis will reveal the problem. I do caution you that a tube amp contains LETHAL voltages even when switched off and unplugged.
  6. You Porker Jack!! LOL
  7. @Brian45 is the link I provided not the part you are looking for?
  8. I'm glad you got it sorted Dave.
  9. Six weeks or so later what was the result??
  10. All my pre-amp bearing basses run off 18V and can be remote powered from the amplifier if I desire.

  12. What are the original drivers?
  13. What does RFI refer to apart from Radio Frequency Interference?
  14. What exactly are you looking for?
  15. Did you try what I suggested and disconnect ALL signal cables with your instrument plugged in the front end?
  16. I would have thought that was obvious but good catch my friend.
  17. You can check if you have the polarities correct by applying a 9V battery across the speaker cable. Both drivers should move in the same direction at the same time.
  18. You know SWR is out of business right?
  19. It appears that @Willowonly visited once and hasn't been back since! Sad that, we could have fixed him/her proper like!
  20. Disconnect all your signal cables and run the amp with just the bass plugged in. What happens?
  21. If the amp works as it should with your bass plugged into the Return jack try connecting the Send and Return with a signal cable and the bass plugged in as normal. Sometimes the normalizing contacts on these jacks can get corroded and fail to make proper contact.
  22. The 6L6WGB is from an older less able family than the 6L6GC currently used. I may even have a couple of these tubes in my tube caddie. LOL Edit to add: If memory serves me correctly the W signifies a tube designed for industrial purposes.
  23. Peavey do make reliable stuff!
  24. I exchanged the amp I was using for the Bassman when I left the band. I figured the Bassman would have a higher value. Simple economics!
  25. One pairing that you can take to the bank is never mix a 4x10 with a 1x15. It always puts the single 15 in danger as it fails to keep up with the more capable 4x10.
