  1. I prefer stainless over NPS (Nickel-Plated Steel).
  2. 13-Feb-90 Trouble release their self-titled album (but it's not their debut):
  3. 13-Feb-83 Rock Goddess debut was released:
  4. It's the anniversary of the MH/GS collaboration:
  5. re: Baphomet I was able to use this image earlier today in a thread about G.O.A.T.: my mother was inquisitive when she saw the cover of Talk of the Devil, when it arrived in the mail:

  7. He must have hated his uncle's guts, because now his hand will be right where the guts were. He should have made a double-bass, then he could have used the guts.
  8. I was a medium-sized fanatic, until I saw them perform at home in Venice Beach. As I've gotten older I've grown into a larger fanatic, but it's not because I'm tall.
  9. Television seasons is what lets me know I'm old. Our perception of time changes as we get old, years seem to pass by faster. There are some shows on that are now in their 4th or 5th season & it seems to me like they should just be starting their 2nd season.
  10. 42 AWG is common, if they want to make it HOT they might use 44 AWG to get more wraps in the same housing
  11. Ha, I like to throw up a photo of Phil Collen whenever there's a thread about Phil Collins.
  12. I can't find the TisWas clip of MH, but there's this:
  13. I'm going to start reciting this every time I pick up my #1 bass:
  14. If there's an active/passive switch, it's almost obligatory.
  15. I'm reminded that the local Burger King has gospel on all the time 😕
  16. Everyone knows about Venom & Grim Reaper, how about the more obscure?
  17. Those 'brittle' sounding instruments still have bass in the timbre, it's just overshadowed by the high-end frequencies which are more audible to human ears. I've found that just rolling back the treble-cut knob 'warms' them right up. I've also found that if I need more bass I can bump that up in the EQ w/o making an audible hiss, but if you want to bump up treble with the EQ, here comes the hiss.
  18. I regret commenting, as usual. Have a good day! Cliff's birthday!
  19. It's complicated for people who want to justify owning heaps of basses, LOL! If I have One that can be bright but dialed back for p-bass-like sounds, I have everything I need.
  20. IME you can dial back a 'modern' sounding bass to sound vintage ('warm'), but you can't dial UP a vintage-sounding bass to sound modern. So, I always shoot for the former when I'm 'shopping'.
  21. If I don't like an artist much, I won't go into a thread with their name in the title to stomp on their grave. Lately people have been going on about how great Cliff Williams is or Rick Willis. Nothing against them really, but I find their bass arrangement incredibly boring. Sure, they serve the songs. Cliff was avant-garde, I'm reminded of when Terence Butler was the first to record a bass through a Wah.
