Recent purchase but just isnt the sound for me. Sounds great though, stereo outputs 2 tone and 2 volume controls,3 way toggle for pickups.Really great sturdy bridge too.Thru neck and really great low action, nice inlays and great balance, all in all a good player. If any more pics required I will email you them as I cant show them. The finish is perfect its just so shiny I cant stop reflections!!After a straight sale as need a new van.Got a few basses for sale. After £400 posted to uk or £370 collected.Cheers. Actually would trade for a MB 151hf or 104hf 8ohm

Trace Elliot Twin Valve Combo.. Opinions & Experiences?
mikhay77 replied to VTypeV4's topic in Amps and Cabs
Like to hear that,100 watt valve, does it get nice and dirty when driven hard? Wouldnt mind one of those heads actually for those rocky loud driven gigs, let me know how it is when pushed! -
You can bag a used Trace Dual comp for around £70,really cracking and bomb proof! Had one for ages until I got my V4 head with a built in valve compressor

Of course if it was purchased through an Official supplier this paint wouldnt have crossed? I really dont know how they get away with it. I sell 20 cars a week and most have manufactures warranty although I am not a official main dealer the manufactures warranty still stands! Grey import or otherwise.Albeit slightly different warranties. Its a quality control issue and I cant understand why its not covered. Like you say though, they cant give a monkeys! You wouldnt have this problem with a cheap Korean bass. Slightly off subject,my mate had bought a new Marshall Valvestate combo which blew a speaker, took it back to the official outlet were purchased in Notts and they could have sent it away but with no "borrower" amp. Rang Marshall they took the serial number and sent him one out 1st class,no questions!! Thats support
For the badge! Seriously, it would be good to compare with an SI. The woodworking looks fantastic!
Ha ha,yeh brass is expensive now! Interesting logo facts I read somewhere once. Or did I dream it?

The build is bob on,all the laminates are great. I have heard the "rumour" about the sound but yet to have some one who has A/Bd them. Any series owners around lincoln willing to compare ( Basses, lol ) Would be interesting? The Q filters really are tonally amazing. Totally different from any of my other active basses. Almost wah pedal like? And the piano style highs when Qs fully on!!!! The sustain is fantastic with the large brass sustainer block under the bridge too.Mind you if the sound was nailed then why would you buy an Alembic? Or is it nailed?
-
The one on the right is Kelly,I had one and was fantastic for small clubs on bass, dirty!!!!! Mine was 50watts,Ithink John Kelly made 100 watters too. Gettin pricier now. If you find one buy it.Very similar to a Selmer TB ( He used to work for them )

RARE Fernandes Alembic Series One Copy.
mikhay77 replied to MB1's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
has to be said they have done a great job, i would love that in my collection. how does it sound play and have you had a comparison with an alembic?
I have never had the opportunity to play a Series Alembic but to my ears from live and studio albums it nails the sound. The electronics are the same with 2 Q filters etc.The action is as low as the pole in a flees limbo competition! All the brass wear is the same even down to the big brass block under the bridge. It would be nice if there was some BCer local to me with an Alembic I could compare.Would be an Interesting topic really! I do have a set of AXY Alembic pick ups which I tried in it but they dont sound as hi fi as the stock ones, mind you axy's are humbuckers I think. -
