  1. Good luck with the second run up/run down on Master Blaster!
  2. Can you work the hob with it too
  3. I love the bass and the bass sound, but then I play a 70s Precision with La Bellas. Some of the basses Olinto produce look fantastic. This guy also looks like he has a lot of top-notch basses looking at his other vids.
  4. Challenge acknowledged. I was just trying to make the point that I didn't expect Lindisfarne to be so popular (as I didn't really know them as a band). About the same time I took pictures of what must have been the last Q Tips gigs before Paul Young discovered Pino. It was a sunday night gig, where the licence made them turn the amps off at 1030. Paul Young just kept singing Motown numbers acapella for another hour (along with everyone in the nightclub). The best gigs are always the most unexpected.
  5. I wasn't into folk either. I took pictures at a Lindisfarne Christmas Gig at Leeds Uni in around 1982 at the height of punk. There were c 2,000 people there who knew all the words to all the songs. It was an amazing experience.
  6. You didn't start out in Bauhaus did you?
  7. Much squatter!
  8. What a beautiful Wal. Is it very old?
  9. Interesting thread. So, as an old school player playing flats, what pedal (s) would you use to mimic that midi sound?
  10. Beautiful it is, but it needs to be in the Right Handed bass sales section. GLWTS
  11. Thanks Ped. Great year for the site. Don't get too phased by the on-line safety stuff. Proportionality is a good word with regulators, and this is a site full of bass enthusiasts, first and foremost.
  12. Isn't the weight thing about Fender running out of (or more likely not being willing to pay for) US Swamp Ash?
  13. My '77 is 10.2lb with the ash can on. I reckon 3lb of that is varnish.
  14. Just remember to get some reinforced wall brackets
  15. Beautiful, but I can feel the weight of it from here!
  16. Seeing your Wal (which looks a remarkably similar vintage to mine made me update my settee settings:
  17. How much for the cat?
  18. I should have known. Have you looked up the story about the CIA stalking Bruichladdich when their virtual tour web cams broke down?
  19. Is the PC bit rather like the Scotch Malt Whisky Society numbering....traditionally to get around copyright?
  20. 4.44kg without frets....that's got to be genuine...what a beast. All you've got to be able to do is play it well!
  21. We are not only getting shoe commentary, but post gig Malt whisky preferences (I think!). Can I ask what PC7 is? And let's continue with this great trend!
  22. I agree with all of that. And for what it's worth (Albeit I am a Treasurer not an accountant), I was only picking up on the instinct to round numbers to neatness!
  23. That is one very beautiful bass (I'm not going to comment on its owner)
