  5. Whoa! That pickguard is awful; proper shonky.

  12. Wasn't the British Empire pink on World maps? Otherwise, I can't think why they'd go with pink. Then again, why the American Sound is orange is a mystery. Perhaps some protestant angle?
  13. Letting one like this, at a good price, slip through my fingers, while I hemmed and hawed over it, still stings. Very tight string spacing, however - 16.5mm or less, IIRC
  14. The Hammerite looks good, but that silver pen work is fabulous, very boutique.
  15. As far as I can see, there are no 'new' features as such, just a collection of previous ideas put all together for the first time (not sure it would be the first time either). I guess it's hard to be innovative when you're such an icon in the industry, as every time they have gone 'off piste' they've not really sold that well. It's not their fault, it's stick in the mud players. Whilst not nearly as bad as guitar players in this respect, bassists are not a lot better. We didn't exactly go mad for the Millennium or Meteora. "How many guitarists/bassists does it take to change a light bulb? 50. 1 to change it and 49 others others to talk about how good the old one was."
  16. I’m quite envious. The Mod/Ska/‘60s band I’m in, indulge in some reggae-esque tunes. It’s always fun when we do.
  17. Hand Cannot Erase - Steven Wilson
  18. Sloop John B - Beach Boys
  19. But not surprised.
  20. Ink In The Well - David Sylvian
  21. This tends to be me too. It’s not like I’m in a mad panic to get away, that might seem rude, but I’ll probably be off part way through the next set. That said, my next support is only 40mins down the road, so I might stay for a bit longer. Our BL tends to stay on for any other bands, so there is a band representative there, but he’s more local.
  22. I’ve seen WA (both versions) more than any other band and I’ve always been left a bit deflated. There always seemed to be a bit of going through the motions, with the non original members merely filling a space, rather than bringing something to the the performance. The best shows of WA tunes I’ve seen, was delivered by the tribute band Ashbone-U-Wish (sadly no more), whom I’ve seen more than once (for complete transparency, AUW was made up of friends of mine, but this probably makes me more critical, rather than just bigging up my mates).
  23. Quality! He makes that P look like a short scale.
