  3. Pub landlords/ladies are like farmers, they never say that business is good. TBF things might be tough, but never to the extent that they make out. The real problem is that when they start talking down the state of play, it almost becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. If people go to the venue because of the music, reducing it, or messing with a proven formula, will actually reduce their footfall. Venues have been getting away with murder when it comes to the band’s fee, it’s still the same today as it was 12+ years ago, but they’ll still claim it’s too expensive .
  4. I believe Fender do them as spares. The one time I had to do it, I just found one in my box of bits that would fit in the rod space and reamed out the washer’s hole to fit over the thread.
  5. Take off the rod’s nut, put a washer on and replace. That’ll give you some more adjustment.
  6. Monday Monday - Mamas & Papas
  7. Cigareetes, Whisky and Wild, Wild Women - Sons of the Pioneers
  8. 2 Minutes to Midnight - Iron Maiden
  9. Sixteen Tons - Tennessee Ernie Ford
  10. It was hearing one being played on Saturday Night Live that sent me down the short scale rabbit hole. I’d like a Midwestern, but think I’d prefer a Wilcock Mullarkey (I played one, it was glorious).
  11. I went to school at Wilson’s, before it moved, now Camberwell School of Art.
  12. 50 Ways To Love Your Lever - P Simon
  13. Ask them to buy you a Wilcock or a Serek, they’ll pipe down pretty sharpish
  14. I don’t know about that, but Kenneth Branagh and Emma Thompson lived there, when they were a couple. My first wife lived in East Dulwich (off of East Dulwich Grove) as did two of my school chums (off Dog Kennel Hill). I had my very first pint in the Lord Palmerston on Lordship Lane and was a regular in The Forester’s.
  15. If you don’t want music and want a blether, go to a ‘Spoons; FFS! Punters, eh?
  16. A ways off at the moment, but we’re supporting local heroes, The Owls on St Andrew’s night or, as it is being named by the the organisers, St SKAndrew’s Night (which I think is quite clever, even if they’ve missed the apostrophe 🤦🏻).
  17. Watched One Love last night. Whilst I think there was some woeful miscasting, having Aston Barrett Jr play his dad was inspired.
  18. You could stick a very thick pick in the neck pocket gap of my old '63 P, still sounded awesome.
  19. Bad Dog No Biscuit - Daron Norwood
  20. Camberwell Grove, there’s posh! I remember Vestry Road, but Nandine’s is after my time.
  21. Drank Like Hank - Brothers Osborne
  22. Jesus Just Left Chicago - ZZ Top
  23. Pink Cadillac - Loose Windscreen
  24. I'm an ex-South Londoner. Born and raised in Camberwell. Dulwich Park was a regular haunt and my school's playing grounds were there too.
