I need some extra focus and some new tunes would help, having moved to a new area (country in fact) I’ve left my old bands behind and there’s no urgency to learn anything until I find a new role (online, recording collaborations notwithstanding). I’ve been relearning Haitian Divorce and having just taken delivery of a Beatbuddy mini and playing along to that is what’s occupying my bass time at the moment.

I was going to post a pair of boxing gloves, but they’re much better. 👏👏👏🤣

I was sucked in by a bass demo that used a Beatbuddy for backing. I can’t remember what the bass was, but I bought a Beatbuddy mini (the one between the original mini and the mini2). It really has given focus to my practice and I’m actually doing some exercises in addition to tunes. So much better (and more expensive) than a metronome.

I use the volume control for swells and muting, otherwise wide open for minimised resistance. The tone control gets far more use.

I've played a Sadowsky, but not a Fodera. I'm also not a fan of gold hardware, therefore, if I had to pick one, it would be the Sad. Having said that, one of the few bass tones that have emanated from the TV that has really made me sit up to see what was being used, was a Fodera (Marc van Wageningen with Tower of Power on Later with Jools).
