  1. Absolutely!
  2. Plenty of guitar players here (they just keep it quiet) so you’re in good company. Needing advice on spending your money on new bass related items? Oh, you’ve really come to the right place.
  3. I feel the words, beware someone with just one post complaining, coming on. Not to say that there isn’t a genuine grievance here, albeit delayed, but we have seen this before. For my part, any work I’ve had done at The Gallery has been top notch and very reasonably priced. When they defretted my EB USA SUB, the end result was nothing short of stellar.
  4. Hopefully, that’ll sort out the cut & paste descriptions in the Modern Vintage pages (and probably others) where the P types are all described as having lollipop tuners, where they plainly are not. Yeah, it’s nit picking but it’s what we do do, no?
  5. Wibble!
  6. The position markers are wrong, but it’s ok, he can’t see them.
  7. To paraphrase Eva Green in Casino Royale, “There clip on tuners and then there are clip on tuners, TCs are the latter.” @0:46
  8. Mmm, tort on black, yummy.
  9. 17-11-70 - Elton John. Dee Murray just being brilliant. So - Peter Gabriel. Tony Levin’s finest album with PG? Maybe. You also get Larry Klein too. Robben Ford & The Blue Line - album of the same name. Roscoe Beck at his finest. No Parlez & Secret of Association - Paul Young. Pino slip sliding and inspiring untold numbers of bass players. Continuum - John Mayer. Pino showing his other side and you get Willie Weeks too! Crosby Stiils & Nash - CS&N. Steven Stills showing off his bass chops, as well as everything else. The Yes Album, Fragile, Close to the Edge - Yes. Chris Squire mixed up close and personal; the tone, the technique. Rush ‘80 - ‘93. My favourite era. Geddy, nuff said. Back to Oakland & Tower of Power - TOP. Rocco, again, nuff said. Props to @funkgod for mentioning The Peddlers. The Fantastic Peddlers was one of my late dad’s favourite albums and I was raised on it, regular weekend listening in my youth.
  10. Get Up & Boogie - Silver Convention
  11. Shoreline Gold always looks ‘right’ on a J style bass. I’m not normally a fan of gold (except on Les Pauls) but Shoreline really works IMO.
  12. I’m in the mood to acquire a Squier CV 60s P and upgrade the buggery out of it, just for the doing of it.
  13. Fair enough. In which case an old, 2nd hand, Line6 Spider might be the way to go. IIRC they had a metal voicing in the presets.
  14. I like the sound of a guitar through a bass amp, just add appropriate fx.
  15. I don’t need to experience that vicariously, I can do it up close and personal.
  16. I assumed it was a euphemism.
  17. Nowt from me, but I hope to be able to live vicariously through your bass related, Christmas pressies. Please note
  18. Merry Christmas yer ãrse, I hope… nah, not really, but it’s hard not to quote Kirsty and Shane at this time of year. Have a great one and thanks for all the effort in the last 12 months. 🎉🎄🍾🎁🎂🎅
  19. I feel a BC coming together with flaming torches and pitchforks.
  20. Hang on, we’ve voted, given our more in depth opinions and now you’re selling both. I feel used 😆.
  21. What kind of massive tools announce something so spurious 3-4 years ahead of time? Oh, hang on, yeah. As you were.
  22. COR! 😍 I had the cheapo version of this and it was rather nice. Always fancied the full on version, but can’t justify a Rob Allen and one of these too. GLWTS.
  23. Now, I won’t have that. I emailed them a few days ago, fully expecting no reply and they haven’t let me down.
  24. Because he already had ample quantities of Schmegilka to hand (mere mortals can only handle 6dB of Schmegilka).
  25. TBH, that’s about the extent of my hoofball knowledge and I had to look Aston Villa up, I knew there was third team with the same kit colours from the midlands, but I picked incorrectly the first time.
