Try Siberian Khatru and their cover version of America. Before I got into them, these were really the only tracks I could get on with. Which is the marvellous thing about music (or art in general), just because others rave about something, doesn't mean it's for you. The amount of big name bands/artists that I can't stand, or find barely tolerable, is quite something.

That amount of space between the stands is unprecedented! I normally have to do a quick tour of a show, followed by a careful trawl. I think I’d have been done in half an hour total here. At least Sheldon has had other ‘clinics’ he’s done whilst he’s here - Guitar Guitar for instance. However, I take your point.

Definitely worth a try, it’s a great sounding bass. The reason I moved mine on was that I couldn’t cope with the weight. Those bezels are brilliant and make the whole thing far more playable for fingerstyle. Good luck.

The Sadowsky pre amp is not nearly as powerful as many out there (I’ve owned an East pre in the past and had many active basses), but I find it adds just the right amount of ‘fairy dust’ to my passive basses (I use the pedal based version). If I wanted an on board pre amp, I wouldn’t hesitate to use a Sadowsky. YMMV.

I see you’re also a Geddy fan (good for you 👍). I think one of the things that we can all learn from messrs Squire, Entwhistle & Lee is that what could kindly be described as a gnarly tone, soloed, is absolutely perfect in a band mix. JE’s mixed tone on The Real Me is one of my favourites of all time, but soloed I hate it.

Two of the best Fender playing/sounding basses I have owned have been signature models - JMJ Mustang and Roscoe Beck lV. I’m not interested in buying basses because of the endorsement, it’s all about whether or not it’s a good instrument.
