  1. Having used Dunlops (stick out too far), Schallers (rattle too much and come apart), I’ve gone back to Grolsch washers or Basschat’s own (smaller hole and harder rubber make them harder to remove, so not ideal for wigs, etc). Loxx look interesting, but if it ain’t broke, etc. The D’Addario screw and clip system seems sensible, except that without the strap section attached, they look tatty to me. EDIT: Oh yeah, 🧟‍♂️ thread, nice one. Threads don’t die, they’re just resting.
  2. I’ve been P bassless for quite some time and now have an itch that needs scratching. I thought that having Mustangs was the way, but it turns out that they are a gateway drug. Played a Player series P at GG the other day, it was very good indeed 😬.
  3. Breaking Up Is Hard To Do - Neil Sedaka
  4. I like it too. I imagine the one off nature, with no selling to the masses , got them a pass.
  5. I’m not sure that they do commission sales, they’ll have traded or bought that I reckon.
  6. I’m pretty sure that is my old one, the knot and the copper tape shielding are the giveaways. A really good bass, that is nice and light and sits beautifully in the mix. Doesn’t seem to have picked up too many dings since it left my keeping. Nice upgrades you’ve had done there. Someone is going to get a nice bass. GLWTS.
  7. Even worse now that they’re employee owned (or something like that), it’ll be the evil eye from their colleagues for ages.
  8. @JwK94 One of these HBs might suit your girlfriend (you ), given your SS wanted post.
  9. Oops! There should be some red faces in Camden.
  10. How many series of Walking Dead were there? Determined things the undead.
  11. Funnily enough, they was a video on the Lakland website many years ago, where Yes were performing live somewhere and Chris Squire was playing a Lakland P type - sounded just like Chris always did (looked wrong though ).
  12. 4003s is the way forward for you, no nasty sharp binding to deal with.
  13. Looks like that was a heavy one
  14. Back Door Man - Willie Dixon
  15. Sold mine because it was a boat anchor and made my shoulder ache, I should’ve bought the walnut version over the maple, as they’re much lighter. Oh yeah, this thread - 🧟‍♂️ resurrection.
  16. You Can Ring My Bell - Anita Ward
  17. Southern Man - Neil Young
  18. Iron Out The Rough Spots - Paul Young
  19. Crawling from the Wreckage - Dave Edmunds
  20. Face to Face - Gary Barlow
  21. I have 2 custom built basses (not EB) that are very, very similar in build materials. One has always needed a bit more attention in the truss rod dept than the other, which needs almost none at all. It’s the nature of natural materials, despite being the same wood, unless they’re from the very same plank of the same tree, they are likely to react differently to changes in climate. That being said, I think the older the instrument, the more stable they tend to be due to being an instrument that much longer, seasoning, whatever. I had a ‘63 P Bass that rock solid whenever, wherever, whatever the weather, I don’t remember adjusting it once in all the time I owned it.
  22. Reviled by many, but I really like it and I don’t think there’s a duff track on it.
  23. TBH a lot of other retailers could learn a lesson from Thomann. Admittedly I ordered a few items, but the bass was in its box, which was packed in a larger box with more paper packing than you can shake a stick at. I had to go digging to find the bass box. You mentioned over in the SS thread about noticing more accentuated tonal differences on your modded Mustang than on an equivalent long scale. This is my first 2 p/up shorty and I must agree that the different tonal differences are certainly more pronounced than on my J type 33” scale with a balance pot.
  24. Especially that type. I made the mistake of wearing a pair of shorts for an outdoor, lockdown, streamed gig. They received as many comments as the actual content of the livestream. I should've known better.
