Any news on this, does it fit?
-
i tried one a while ago, it was well built, looked and sounded good, the only thing i noticed was the weak E string. but that seems to be a weakness of the short scale? i’m still contemplating getting one though… and yes, i do like the design, works for me, but obviously not everybody’s cup…

If you like jazz don’t go to a jazz festival

i stand corrected. having said that, i am looking forward very much to the general statistics that will prove me completely wrong. -

funny enough you see all sorts of rock, pop, world and i don’t know what else kid of music at a jazz festival but you never see a jazz artist at a rock, pop, world, folk or whatever else festival. ain’t that a nice little twist, everybody’s jazz if needs be, but it only works one way. how lovely and inclusive, so modern too… -

i know that, but there’s acts now that have NOTHING to do with jazz, there’s no relation whatsoever to what the idea of jazz is in my understanding but still they’re making it to the line-ups. -
It seems that everybody can get a gig at a jazz festival nowadays as long as they are a big name or they don’t play jazz. At least that seems to be the story for quite some time now in european jazz festivals. I was offered a ticket from a friend who was playing the Gent Jazz festival so i checked the program of the day and the main acts were some (what i heard on the embedded video) Adele type rip-offs. And basically the whole program seemed to have about 15% jazz or jazz related music. What’s going on? Is the word jazz so attractive that you can stick anything in the program and your sales are great? Opinions, experiences?

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!

never had a Gibson, but very sub-muddy(or mud-subby?) indeed. i might end up putting in a Kiogon stacked knob replacement to get a bit more control over the mud flow the bridge pickup is beautiful on its own though -

Squiar Rascal arrived today, super happy! -
don’t think i’ll have 8 HB but also couldn’t do with just 1 Fender. I got this MV4 a couple of weeks ago, seems their whole first batch was gone in a couple of days? It’s for a project/band that’s happening atm and a nice addition to the fleet. Very nice out of the box, changed the strings and have a Lollar set at home if if needs must…

"Close to zero" cost of creating content

i think this is where he reveals his plans: ”This has sparked my curiosity about the concept of long shelf life versus short shelf life” “This makes me wonder: what are the most unintuitive, yet enduring ideas that aren’t frequently discussed today but might have a long shelf life? Also, what are we creating now that will still be valued and discussed hundreds or thousands of years from today?” -
I got this info from the man himself not long ago: A two pickup Helectrix would be 1500€. A 1 pickup or bass is 1350€. Case and shipping extra. Building time is 4 weeks from the start of the build, waiting time before start is approx 6 weeks.

Had an idea in those weird times... wrote some words and music, did the basic charts with melodies and harmony, went to a studio with pianist and drummer after the first wave, we did some basic tracks - "empty canvases", and then sent those to a bunch of friends (vocals, vibraphone, guitar, pedal steel, banjo, saxophones, trumpets, rhodes, wurlitzer, piano, bass clarinet, percussion, cello). The only thing i told them was "do whatever you feel like doing", also mentioned some painters and movie directors as a reference. When i got all the layers back i started recomposing, rearranging, rebuilding, abusing files... it took me a long time to finish, but now it's here! I hope you enjoy it. https://robertjukic.bandcamp.com/album/odtenki-sre-e
