  5. Cheers Andy & Out to Play jazz I prefer the natural finish on just about any bass the spalted maple status on here is really nice not sure who owns it
  6. Im thinking about selling it because the width of the neck is killing my fretting hand, and going back to 4 string but its such a great bass and the action is so low im in two minds about it. Its for sale in Ireland, if it sells great if it dosent i dont mind keeping it.

  8. Cheers chris this bass will probably never see a gig , so not too worried if it marks but its nice to know its not a problem
  9. Snap i got one on monday also has a bit of noise not unexpected at this price but very nice bass for the money The strings on it are roundwound and are marking the fingerboard allready Does anyone know how long (approx) this fingerboard (ebanol) can handle this before its a problem or would i be safer switching to roundwounds or half roundwounds

  13. Thanks for the help everyone Swapping straight to 6 is the thing for me im not giging much at the minute so that should give me space to get my head round it neck dimensions, string spaceing, scale lenght and pickup layout is fairly much down to personal taste, but does anyone know of some good info along these lines
  14. Hello lads im hoping to buy a 6 string fairly soon (when i,ve sold off enough gear im not really using) just looking for some advice 1. would it be wise to play a 5 then move on to 6 im a bit lost on the 5s ive tried so i figure why not be lost on the 6 i need the B to cover some of the stuff i like to play as for the C i used to play guitar so it would be nice to have the option to play chords 2. I feel i would need to swap completely to the 6 how many of you still play 4 or keep one around for certain gigs im unwilling to part with my jazz bass and will only do so to get enough cash to get the 6 but would i be better off to get rid of it 3. is there a certain amount of pressure when you walk into a gig or new band rehersal with a 6 do people expect you to be a monster player or do they even notice 4.whats the general time frame from getting the 6 to gigging it 5.some of the bands i play with do covers that are tuned down a half step some the lads bring extra guitars, some of them move the song to a key their happier with, some of them play it as they hear it ,using standard tuning (which dosent sound great on certain songs) so im hoping having the extra range will leave me in a position where i can use standard tuning all the time no matter what the guitars are doing does it sound strange to play like this or does it depend on the song Im also not sure what bass to go for but ill save that debate untill i get the cash together
  15. Im not mad about the look of the bass. But the sound is f**king AWESOME ,very jealous cool tracks, great gig. im gonna head in the 5 string direction the sei basses are definately worth a look now, or should i say listen. what a sound
  16. Everyone i have asked and every review ive seen has said the norton stuff is crap so its gone

It was norton internet security 3.0 and it was fairly slow, so ive got a trial version of intego virus barrier x4 just installed it so no idea what its like is antivirus software on the mac just overkill, what are the rest of you mac people using some advice would be greatfully accepted but keep it simple please feeling kinda naked now or is it just paranoid
