  1. I’ll take this if it doesn’t sell!
  2. That 64 Jazz looks stunning! Looks pretty original to my moderately trained eye?!
  3. I hadn't seen this but owning a Noble and a Khan DI I'd love to hear how it compares! @knicknack I'd love to hear your thoughts!
  4. Dear Basschatters, I have a P bass body, along with original pots, neckplate (and bolts) and knobs, pickup screws (they look old but I'm aware they're just a bonus!), strap and bass case that I believe to be from a 1977 Fender Precision bass. I have some pickups too but they don't have any serial numbers or markings so I am not sure they are from the same bass. I am looking to sell the body and parts but I'd love to know if anyone can help identify the body especially. The pots are from 1977 and the body looks to be from then too but any help would be hugely appreciated. And any estimates on a price for it (as a package with everything or stand alone) would be hugey appreciated! Best wishes, Sam P.s @Reggaebass kindly suggested I put this on here so thanks to them for the heads up!
  5. Thanks so much for your info @Reggaebass! I'll put it in there now!
  6. I have no idea on the worth of this at all so I am really happy as I have said to take offers. It'd mean a lot for it to go to someone with the passion to restore it!
  7. Dear Basschatters, Here I have a Herb Gastelum 1988 precision 44mm bass neck with original tuners and hootenanny button. I have had it looked at recently by a local luthier who has told me that it would need a new fretboard to be in functioning condition. He showed me a scan of the neck and there is a ramp at the heel. The fretboard is quite thin and the frets, although in brilliant condition, are quite short frets to begin with. So the only way of having the neck in working condition would be to get a new freboard and to have the neck wood sanded to level it out. There is also an amount of lacquer missing on the back evenly across the neck where it looks as though someone has taken the lacquer off to identify a place on the fingerboard or has had the neck resting against an amp in the same place or something like that. It's perfectly comfortable but someone may want to sort the finish out. I have a couple of Herb G necks and they are absolutely fantastic so I know if someone wanted to take the project on that it would be well worth it to restore the neck. As it happens I have no idea what it's currently worth but I would love for it to go to someone who likes a project as I have too many basses to be working on currently. Please feel free to send me any offers or questions! Best wishes, Sam

  9. I’d love to buy this if you’re able to post! Happy to cover the cost!
  10. Does this come with a cover? It looks as though the pictures have lost their link to me. I’d love to see them!
  11. Hahahha thanks @Beedster! I'm looking for a quick sale so any offers will be considered!
  12. I bought a double bass from Richard a couple of months ago. Really well described and pictured and it was brilliant to meet him and discuss all things life and bass. Really generous with his time and he even brought the double bass into London for me to come and collect! Thanks Richard!
  13. I bought a Tokai from Nik yesterday. The bass is brilliant and perfectly as described. Unfortunately I had to dash off otherwise there’s a high likelihood we’d still be talking about all things bass. Really nice guy and can’t recommend enough. Thanks Nik!
  14. For sale we have a Core Fiberglass Double Bass Case Black - 3/4. It's in good condition having been used a few times. The interior is in brilliant condition and the outside is in good condition with a few marks from use. The only downside is that a section of beadind near the top of the case has been clamped in the case when closing. It sits perfectly flush when in use and doesn't affect the structure at all - it just doesn't look entirely perfect. See photos for details. It's fiberglass and costs over £2500 new. It's a brilliant case and will protect your prized bass from any damage! It fits in the back on a large estate car without any problems but ideally a van is the best thing to transport it in. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Best wishes, Sam
  15. How on earth is this still here? Also not a jazz bass guy but this is off the charts. Stunning looking bass!
  16. I have sent you a PM!
  17. Thank you Pow! That’s great
  18. Dear Basschatters, These strings came on a Yamaha BB1600 that I bought and I really like them. I can’t seem to find out what they are anywhere! Any help would be hugely appreciated! Best wishes, Sam
  19. I messaged a few times but didn’t hear anything back. Anyone here have any luck?
  20. Thanks for this @MrFingers! That’s super helpful. I’ll have a look under the pickups over the next couple of days and let you know what’s under there. The scratch plate is definitely very recent.
  21. Dear Basschatters, I hope you're well. I recently acquired this bass and it seemed like an interesting mix of things to me. I have taken the neck of and it's a Herb Gastelum neck which is a nice surpirse but by my sight on the pencil marking it looks to be an 88 neck and then the pots are from a 77 but I can't tell the markings on the body. Any help identifying what this is would be brilliant and hugely appreciated! Best wishes, Sam
  22. I got hold of one in the end - thanks @Quatschmacher!
