The one ive got has "power supply not supplied" printed in the box and has the instructions in Japanese, works perfectly with a standard 9v supply though?
Mine came with a whole pile of instruction manuals in a whole range of languages, including English, Japanese, and a range of languages I don't understand but which look like Spanish, Italian, etc.
2. Tokai Jazz neck. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tokai-Bass-Guitar-Ne...=item45fb408601 Edit: Doesn't say MIJ on it, that I can see.
3. No idea if this is a reasonable price or not. Just posting to say that this looks pretty damn cool IMHO. Surely ripe for a reissue? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hofner-Senator-Bass-...=item256494c8c3 Edit: Reissue Hofner President bass doesn't quite match it, visually, IMHO. http://www.thomann.de/gb/hoefner_hct_500_5...sident_bass.htm
4. I finally have mine. It came with a Boss power adapter. But, it works. I had some ebay.adventures getting the unit. But, I'm very pleased with the unit itself. I haven't delved much into programming, but there are some very good presets. And, when I did try twiddling some knobs, it seems that the individual effect units have a good range of useful sounds.
5.
Hondo
The fretboard looks very dark. Surely it wouldn't be ebony.
6. I can see them. He's listed the same bass twice. In theory he shouldn't do this, but it's unlikely he'll get any real problems. If the bass sells by BIN, then he can cancel the auction. If the bass doesn't sell by BIN, then he can cancel that auction, and sell normally. The only time he'd be in trouble is if two people buy the bass at a similar time. Then he'd have to NPS at least one of them, and risk justified negative feedback.
Kit form.
The writing in the rout says "Cherry Kendo". Or similar, the characters for "Kendo" are partially obscured and not well written. In Japanese characters, though the language is English.
8.
or fix the neck to solve the original problem
From a buyer's perspective, I must admit that the phrase "or buy another bass" popped into my head
9. Now, this is what one may call a "project". http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VINTAGE-1960s-ANTORI...=item20ba2a2d72
10. A music shop in London once offered to sell me a toilet brush from John Lennon's mansion. True, actually.
11.
Quite like the look of this Westone Spectrum ST bass that has just been listed. Looks good in white with a black headstock. I reckon it will go for next to nothing.
Collection only in Royston. Is that short for "Royston Vasey"?
12.
Only reached £232, yet went "full term". Curious thing, Feebay. Karl.
Maybe putting "needs service" in an auction listing without saying what the problems are is not a good idea.
13.
This is the worst deal I've seen for quite some time... Buyer apparently can't read carefully. Ugly, worn piece of plywood sh!t for the price of nice bass? The world's doomed!
I thought that there have been some good deals on ebay recently, such as the Japanese Squier p-bass. But, as you say, the Columbus is an awful deal. I wonder if the buyer will continue thinking that it's a Fender, and will try to sell it as a real Fendrr some day?
14.
WTF? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/fender-jazz-bass-mad...=item3cb85c14f5 Seriously, WTF?
£310 including p&p for a Columbus. Each to their own I suppose.
15. If bassmeg is still looking, this Westbury Track 2 bass is less overpriced than others. With the original hard case, £200 starting bid might be OK if you got it for that. Jon knows prices better, but for what it's worth I'll say that I think £200 would be an OK price but not a bargain. Also note Jon's comments that the bridges on these can be a bit dodgy. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Westbury-track-2-bas...=item3f0a81a765
16. Japanese Squier P-bass (1993-4 vintage) sells for £135. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT
17. I just bought this. Bit of an impulse purchase, but I really wanted something easy and quick to plug into which had a drum machine in it, more or less just to use as a metronome for headphones practice. I was looking at B2.1us, but didn't need the USB or the pedal. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Zoom-B2-Bass-Multi-F...=item2a1114bb92 Didn't know how much to bid, so I just bid a tenner or so over the previous winning bid. Then I won it. It's not that much more than half Thomann price, so surely that can't be too bad. How much do these typically go for? Not that I really mind, but just curious as to what others think of the purchase.
18. Thanks all. Hearing a number of examples helps, but I must admit that I'm still not a great fan of distorted/fuzz bass sounds. They have their place as a special effect in some circumstances, "Think for Yourself" being perhaps the classic example. But I still prefer a clean, compressed, sound with the tops rolled off. The problem is that I've always planned to upgrade my amp sim + effects, which I am semi-humiliated to say is just plugging into a Behringer V-Amp. And, yes, I know that's a six-string box. But, when I look at reviews of the widely used bass boxes such as the Zoom B2.1u, the demos seem to concentrate too much on distorted/fuzz bass sounds, which put me off. As mentioned above, the distortion loses the deep bassiness. And in the remainder of the reviews, I just don't seem to be hearing sounds that I must have. PS: Here's another sound I presume to be distorted bass: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yLKsympUmM
19. I just don't like the sound of distorted/fuzz bass. Maybe I haven't heard the right example. Any recommended tracks that really show off distorted/fuzz bass?
20.
Westone Thunder 1A on Leeds' Gumtree - £65!!!!!!
Wow! That's a bargain.
21. I could sell it on here I bought my Rockbass Streamer STD 5 string on here for £115. I don't think I could sell it for more than that.
22. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/290570522953 Apologies all.
23. I was watching this one sell, but I can do nothing with the body only of a set-neck bass. Cheap though, for anyone who has an Ibby Artist with a broken body. If any such exist. I suppose if the electronics work and the bridge is in one piece, it was worth it for the parts. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:B:WNA:GB:1123
24. I was tempted to message him to ask whether it was still for sale, but thought that might interfere with the outcome.
25. Did you win it? Sold for £200.
