1.
Good grief, you're lucky you didn't decapitate someone! There's an interesting thought. If a chicken can run around for 10 seconds after you've chopped it's head off, how long do you reckon a drummer can maintain the beat under the same circumstances?
would have to ask: can the drummer keep time/beat in the first place??
2.
As I said before, I can respect the amount of influence he has gotten from Sheehan but ultimatley he has very little originality about him. Send in the clones. Though I've always wondered if an Atittude is a good all around bass, as I've always loved the look, what say you Andy??
This will be predictable! I absolutely love the attitude bass so much so I would recommend it to any pbass player! I have played mostly pbasses but always found them to be lacking in real whooomfff. I had the pleasure of playing a telebass and then an eb3, both had the whooomff factor but not the definition I wanted! When I played my first attitude (cheaper special edition) it felt right in terms of sound and feel! I saved enough to buy a signature model it surpassed my expectations and has been a wonderful instrument to play as well as feeling right at home with me and my chubby body shape! lol! andy
3. +1 to all of the above! definitely worth over the odds - I have played one similar to this, it was the best damn ray I've ever played! The birdsey maple neck with that finish is truly gorgeous and plays so well! well done. andy
4. I feel honoured to have my hero sign my bass. It's also great, that in this day and age a legend would take the time to do this and send such a nice sentiment - not many do! I've mailed billy a few times over the years and had a response/discussion on many occasions. He loeves to talk bass, more significantly the attitude series, and really, really loves feedback on his solo stuff - positive or negative! I had a discussion with him over the split of Mr Big and the last album. I said the last album was souless and lacking fire and passion he and paul gilbert displayed when playing. Billy agreed and said this was the worst mr big album and he hated it.
5. is there? will have to track it down. cheers andy
6. around the £500 mark is a good price for these - I wouldn't let mine go for any less! andy
7.
I've still got the advanced techniques DVD and still watch it time to time, as it did help a good deal to set me on the right tracks, both soundwise (Compression etc...) and technique wise. I tried the 3 finger approach after heavily modding my P'Up positioning on my old bass to match his, and it resulted in just being a case of not feeling natural and really found that wasn't right for me and started to take a back seat and become more associated with the groove. I still use ome of those exercises still, just with 2 fingers instead and has really helped to no end. Ummm I think it's Danny Growl, I can respect he has learnt a great deal from Billy but in the end he just sounds and looks like a copy to every extent so to me he looses his appeal as an original player.
Danny Growl, thats it! same as me, the exercises and generalities help fine tune your own motor skills.
8.
you guys dont know when to stop, do you? let. him. sell. his. bass. .
aye ok! read your post fully this time!
9. hey josh, yea I agree. At one stage i tried to emulate his style but decided this wasn't me. Love it to death though. There is a guy on YouTube.com, I think his name is Dave Growl who plays just like billy. andy
10. someone mentioned previously, before being able to sell: a. introducing yourself b. becoming involved in some of the discussions c. only being able to use the for-sale forum when the individual reaches certain number of posts. I think this is a pretty good idea becuase: a. you get to know more about a new member b. goodwill and trust can be nurtured c. do we want to end up like ebay? this is a great place to exist and sell, lets set the standard! andy
11. billy's style is not quite everyone's bag but...his performance, craft and skill is second to no-one! he has fun when playing, lines are in the bag before the flashy stuff and what a career! andy
12. Pix as promised! andy
13.
There are people that don't like him, I'm not 100% smitten, but there's no denying he's good. My point is when you get up close to these guys you get a real sense of their talent, energy and skill. hWich in my experience is always awe inspiring.
concur 100% however...what they do is their thing and, as for all of us, we should endeavour to be ourselves creating our own thing or individuality which makes us 'unique' in our own style. Pat Torpey (Mr Big drummer) once said: "No matter how good or bad drummers can be, I always learned something from them. Whether this be a complex pattern or a simple beat." thought it was a good sentiment and have since used this outlook in my playing experience. andy
14. bummer is 3-6 month waiting list...
15. you would have to say Aberdeen!! loads of scams from their on ebay at the mo! lol retail for around £199.00: http://www.andertons.co.uk/acatalog/info_B..._medium=Froogle great bass though - have ordered my bb714 hurrah
16. hi sphycal and welcome aboard fight like a tiget to get your money back! do you see the rows of numbrs on the decal? this represents the patents/trademarks covered when reproducing the decal. someones bought a replacement decal and stuck it on badly!! to me this bass looks incredibly like a 90's style encore?? get right onto ebay to sort this out, if you paid by paypal then you will get your money back as the goods are not as described. andy
17. hey ped! bet you were counting again! lol yep, concur with everything you say about the V4, everything I like about a valve amp. I nearly sold mine last week but lucky to see sense last call - dont know what I was thinking!! For me, the V4 represents the best value out of the V series...I have played through a V8, fantastic but not a V4, used a V6 super nice smashing still no V4. The V4 is the monster of the range as it just gives the second you plug in and start playing...volume is there in abundance - instantly - unlike the V6 and V8, which give you more control sweeter, nicer, hifi, lovely, spring day, sunny, silk stockings - get the picture? turn on the V4 and you get the fecking monster! dirty, huge, careless, mad, etc.... I'm sure I noticed that the Bass Cellar is part of the Doncaster Music Ground group? They have a reputation for being extremely off the planet with their pricing structures!! andy
18. whole heartedly agree! big, bigger, best! well done to all for making this forum such a great place to visit. quick well done to the mods for their fine work! andy

20. Morning folks! Sometime ago my partner secretly removed the scratchplate from my Yamaha Attitude mk2, wrapped it up and posted it off to Billy Sheehan. On my birthday, March 20th, she presented me with the scratchplate signed by billy and photos of him with happy birthday, from billy, on them. I was absolutely gobsmacked! Anyhoo...I mailed him to say thanks and this is the reply I got: Great! Glad you got it. I hope I get to Scotland again soon! I've always loved it there. Tell everyone on the bass forum I said hello! New solo CD coming very soon too. Take care & stay in touch! Your Friend, Billy What a guy! Andy
